How to equip armor?

So i'm on the 2nd planet i think, the one where your ship gets stolen. I just installed a Armor mod that allows me to have CLONE TROOPER armor and when I go to equip it, it says i can't wear it because of prerequisites. How do I equip it?

look at what the armor requires you to wear (skills feats etc) and you have to have those things on the character you want to equip the armor

it is a heavy armor, how do I upgrade this feat?

depending on the class you chose at the beginning, you have to upgrade it through the feat screen at certain levels.

The feats and stuff required to use a weapon/armor are usually somewhere near the top of the item in question

currently i'm able to wear medium armor, how do i upgrade this? its really confusing and i just want to wear my clone armor i installed :(

Like I said, when you level up, in the feats section of the upgrade screen (if you get a feat point) at some level (it shows when you click on the heavy armor feat) you put a point into it, and viola you can wear heavy armor.

Its meant so you cant wear it early on and be super OP in defense from the start.

how does one level up? i havent played this sense i was 5 and that was 10 years ago xD

well, if you are on the Telos then by now you should have leveled probably 3-5 times if not more, its on your character sheet where it shows your light/dark side points and you have a giant L on your character. Same with your companions. I don't know how you even managed to get that far without leveling at all.
