Strange lighting/texture lightsaber issue
Having a strange problem with lighting in this newest updated version of the game. Basically in some areas the hilt of the saber will be completely textured, and looks fine. However in others, it loses its texture and just because sort of an ugly gray stick.

Here's an example of what I mean:

Broken textures[i.imgur.com]

Anybody have a fix for this?

Oh hey. I actually managed to find a fix for this.

Just go to your swkotor2.ini file in your KOTOR II directory, open it with the text editor of your choice, and under [Graphics Options] put:

Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

You might already have something that looks exactly like that in there, I did too just without the spaces. For some reason having the spaces in between the words makes the command actually work.

Hope this helps!

@ Alien. Thanks a LOT for that mate. That had been really @@@@ me off and I couldn't figure it out. As you mentioned, I did have that line in the .ini file but without the spaces. Did what you advised and problem fixed... TY TY TY.

Can you guys report any performance changes after messing with that ini?

There aren't any, it's been used years upon years before the Steam version was even released, same on KOTOR1.

It actually improves preformance all around (smoke, Dantooine etc.)

Not sure if this is still being followed but this fixes my problem but gives me crashes. Need some help with it.

Did you ever figure it out? For me this fix gives me constant crashes in the turret hallway after rescuing the exile on Goto's yacht. I just undo the fix for the yacht and set it back after. The hallway is also the only place my lightsaber texture doesn't display properly on the yacht. So I don't need it there anyway, just everywhere else in the game it seems.

I've actually had some problems with this command as well. It causes some graphical issues on certain planets and I basically have to toggle it on/off in certain parts of the game. I'm not sure there's a way around that.

Well it DOES help with the Lightsaber glitches, but it completely ruins the levels in the game. For example, on Korriban, there are floating, stretched out rocks of which you can walk through. Also the little girl and Bastila models are completely broken if you do this. So it's either broken Lightsabers or broken maps and models. Your choice
