Thorium charges
OK so I used the thorium charges found in the Korriban academy to open the room there so I need another set to open the Mandalorian cache on Dxun. I seem to remember from playing this game way back that you could buy a set of thorium charges from Akkere, the droid merchant on Dantooine - but he doesn't have any in my current game. Am I missing something?

I'm using TSLRCM if that makes any difference.

I think you have to find his hydrospanner (on one of the droids from a room inside the main building). Approach him about finding his hydrospanner and stealing parts. Tell him you'll turn him in and kill him for the charges. I think thats what I did. You might be able to bribe him for them - Not sure. Lemme know if this works or not.

Thanks. I've already done Dantooine and used finding the hydrospanner to get him to join the militia. I remember being able to buy the charges from his list of items when I had the original disk version of the game but don't remember exactly what I did for them to show up as an option.

"In order to get Akkere to sell you the Thorium Charges, you have to try and recruit him when prepping for the battle for khoonda. He says he can't until he sells the charges, which you then buy. Done."

Worst comes to worst, you can also use the save editor to give yourself the charges.

Thanks, I'll try that next time.

Of course, if you confront him about the charges, and let him go, he will willingly recruit without having a need to buy the charges (meaning; no charges for you, unless the Mercs win). So you need to be careful if you really want to buy them...

So, this is years later, but what you have to do on light side is ask to recruit him to the military before you confront him on the hydrospanner. And then he'll willingly sell you the thorium charges in order to join. It locks if you ask him about the hydrospanner first because then he joins without question. You can also still get all the influence and light side points available from giving him 500 for his brother's kid.

Years later is putting it lightly. This was posted 7 years ago. An impressive feat of thread Necromancy.

I don't really get bothered when a thread gets necro'ed but with this one it is so long ago I now have a huge hole in the vegetable patch in my garden where I had buried it.
