Handmaiden Training Problem (Slight spoilers)

Playing KOTOR 2 right now. I completed the 1vs1 melee combat with the Handmaiden, and she agreed to start Jedi training. Unfortunately, she just hit a level-up and the levelup is just leveling her up with more soldier levels... no Jedi levels.

Anyone else have this problem? I thought she would get to level up as a Jedi...

As far as I remember there are three training sessions before you can train her to be Jedi.

You have to complete the fight against her 3 times, which is level based (you don't unlock the 3rd fight until like level 18 or something) before she can become a Jedi. When she does become a Jedi, you don't need to get her to get a level up, she will level up instantly with the training for a free level basically (typically I don't touch handmaiden and level her up at all until she becomes a Jedi, same with Mira because you can turn her into one instantly once you get off goto yacht).

It is a bit complicated to turn Handmaiden into a jedi as you have to complete the three 1v1 sparring. Then you have to go back and forth between Handmaiden and Kreia. Once Handmaiden bcomes a jedi her class will change from soldier to jedi guardian (hover the mouse pointer over her picture at bottom right). If she is still a soldier you have not completed making her a jedi (when you do complete it, you get a scene of Atris and then Kreia saying "Betrayal").

I fought with her 3 times, as you guys say. When I go to ask her to train me any more in fighting, she says she can't teach me anything more, or something like that.
