Quick Heal/Medpack?
After picking the game up again last night I seem to be having some issues with the medpacks. I remember them being simple in the sense that you would click on it and it would heal yourself.

Now the game is requiring me to click on it and then click on my portrait. Doing this with a steam controller is atrociously clunky. Is there a hotkey or a combination of keys that would facilitate a quicker medpack usage?

I don't ever remember having this problem any time I played the game previously.

It was always like that in KOTOR 2... if you are not alone in party, that is. I can only suggest using Heal power or energy shields instead.

That sucks. I am doing a dark side playthrough for the first time which is why the issue might appear to be magnified quite a bit. I appreciate the heads up though.

Not really, you don't have time to heal in combat anyway. Resort to using energy shields, they are cheap and more powerful(put one point into repair on your main character and use all kinds of repair-increasing items when breaking down stuff to get components in bulk). Use Insanity after all, it is best DS power in game.

I remember utilizing medpacks pretty heavily in my previous playthroughs but you're right about the shields. I'll make sure to grab insanity next time it's available.

I usually like to shield and heal mostly because I have no idea when the shields will run out. Unfortunately right now my main PC is a complete glass cannon.

Shields ran out? Reactivate. Also either keep enemies down(Insanity, yeah) or use Energy Resistance(great power, unlike in KOTOR 1). First way sound more dark sided, also it is better in lategame, where enemies may hit for 50-100 per round easily. Even my light sided weapon master kept freezing entire rooms with stasis/insanity in last levels, and it is defo better than chewing through tons of medkits.
For me, party member adventures were biggest trouble at all times. I suggest keeling them well equipped and more than well stocked on best shields/medikits. Adhesive grenades(no saving throw) and mines may be of use as well.

In KOTOR1 you already used medpacks/repair kit on yourself, in KOTOR2 you can use the threat injury skill of another user to heal.

If you really want quickly to be healed simply go to your inventory and double-click the medpack you want. It'll be used on the selected char (with their own repair/threat injury), also not taking a round so that's the 'best' way to use them in combat.

1) How did you manage to make KotOR 2 into a multiplayer game?

2) Why are you playing with mafia thugs?

:P
