Nar Shadaa sucks. Badly. (obv spoilers)
Found out this is the only planet where you run around aimlessly doing things that don't matter until you can actually progress the story. Then the first interesting thing to happen on the planet after talking to Mira is it locks you into fighting with Atton.

And I think to my self, "Okay, this isn't so bad. Oh wait, they have energy shields and Atton just hit a point blank Master Sniper Shot for less than 0 damage, didn't even show a number. I guess the fight must be rigged then and I just get captured. That's fine."

"ALL OF YOUR PARTY MEMBERS HAVE DIED"

F_ck this sh_t planet. Whole game was pretty cool on all the other planets and I just had a feeling, I just KNEW somehow Nar Shadaa would be dogsht and it is, did everything else first.

Maybe I'm just a simpleton or something but every other section of the game seems so straightforward, you literally can't even get where you'd need to go without progressing the story, plus you're actually looking for something on every planet and it's somewhat obvious where to look.

It's just so bad. Do a bunch of favors for NPC's you don't care about that gives you like 7 XP, whoop-dee-do. I'm even playing as a Jedi in a KOTOR game for once and still this sucks just being everyone's errand boy for what seems like nothing. At least let me fight a lot if the goal here was to get me to make enough trouble to draw out the real enemy.

But no. Lock me into fighting 1v2 with probably my shttiest fighter in the whole team, Atton, who gets like 3-4 shot like most of my squad besides my main character. And the best part is I've read ahead that this isn't even the worst combat sequence here.

Gonna be really hard to bring myself back to Kotor 2 now. I was already not wanting to play being stuck on Nar Shadaa for a bit.

They get blocks for tabbles and chairs, maybe thats help you. And you can attack with range(atom) of course.

Yep, that's pretty much the lesson: don't neglect your companions.

That's just Atton and everyone other than Kreia and the Mandalore. Idk why some of them seem capable and most of them seem to be easy to kill by the enemy, maybe I have to change their play style thing.

Enemy puts up energy shields? Stuff their loading ramp with a vibroblade!

Personally, I tend to neglect my companions by choice and use their level ups as medikits.

I managed to access some info in the back of my mind from like 10 years ago or more about using Ion weapons against shields and beat them due to AI pathing jank

Sounds like a you problem. Nar Shaddaa has the most stuff in it, and is one of the best planets in the game from my point of view. Also, the fight you're describing with Atton and the Twin Suns -- just equip a blaster and go behind the bar. They won't follow you there, and then you can either chuck grenades at them, or just shoot at them until they die. Or actually pay attention to your characters and make Atton a jedi beforehand.

Nar Shadda has always been bad in Star Wars games.

In Jedi Outcast Nar shadda had too many annoying rodian snipers.

In Dark Forces 1 Nar Shadda had those councussion rifle enemies that were annoying.

I always pay that one guy near the pazaak den so I dont have to run around doing all the side quests.. But yeah, not a big fan of the party being split up and playing as Mira. Still love the game though, simply for the dialog.

my favorite planet in the game :)

I remember Nar Shaddaa being painful on my first playthrough too. But finding all the secrets and the dialogue options in a second round made it one of my favourite places.

It's been too long for me to give advice, but there's ways around energy shields! Look for a guide online.

Energy shields = reason I train ALL party members to use swords / sabers at least as a secondary weapon. But, I seem to remember grenades working pretty good--ion.

thats my favorite thing about this game and i really, REALLY want to see a roguelike RPG with NO in-combat healing mechanic where the only way to restore health without resting is to spend a level-up. playing this game like that makes it really compelling; there's something Correct-feeling about your character only ever growing stronger DURING a hard fight, and as long as the game is easy enough not to force you to level up you just stay the level you are until it becomes challenging again
