There was a corpse in a prison cell on Korriban that would spawn those....Hssiss lizards or whatever they were called. I searched the corpse repeatedly to spawn several groups of lizards and nuked them down with Force Storm. A couple hours of grinding did the trick. I believe the corpse has been patched to only give one set of lizards for a while now.
In normal gameplay a big part of it is keeping Kreia in your party as much as possible for the experience bonus, doing every quest, and disarming every mine.
As others have mentioned, kill everyone, open every door, and collect every mine.
Planet order matters for two main reasons:
1) Unlocking companions.
2) Gender-specific dialogue.
If you pick up companions too late, you won't be able to resolve their personal storylines, and thus lose out on that sweet EXP. Second reason is self-explanatory, e.g. going to Dantooine as a female character first.
Play using TSLRCM and the exploits are blocked but there is more content and lvl 31 is easy. Add in the M4-78 mod and lvl 33 is easy. You can add another level to those with familiarity with the game to hoover up all the possible points.
So it is pretty easy really.
-- GO-TO's ship, specifically the mine area. You generally want someone who's really good with mines (T3 is a good choice, as he picks them up quickly), as well as Kreia (for the exp bonus, as well as the force powers).
--If you have M4-78 installed, there's a lot of exp that you can grab when you pick up the mines when trying to find the ES droid (Can't recall the exact designation). Also, theres a lot of exp awarded when completing quests (anywhere between 1k-5k experience for a lot of quests, which can get boosted more if you have Kreia in your party).
--Malachor is a good place for exp (tons of sith around). Only problem is that you cant have Kreia (obviously) in your party during this time, so you cant get that extra exp bonus. However, you should be able to grind out ~2 levels from Malachor itself if you fight everything.
--Onderon's siege is good too, just be careful in some areas -- you generally want a stealth character with high awareness and demolitions (I recommend Atton) to pick off the mines before you engage some of the Onderonian forces (regardless if you're fighting for Vaklu/Talia).
Two other places where you can get exp:
1) Im pretty sure theres a mod out there (deadly stream or elsewhere) to get Kreia's exp buff for yourself (so it's always active) thus preventing you from bringing Kreia everywhere you go if you want to max exp.
2) This one is actually easier. If you plant a mine somewhere, leave the area, then come back, youll get exp.
For instance, if you plant a mine in the Dxun jungle, walk into the mandalorian camp, then walk back into the dxun jungle and pick up the mine -- youll get the exp for picking up the mine.
This glitch works in both the vanilla and tslrcm so its a good way to max out your levels.
Ultimately, at some point, youll probably find a way to get to a decent point where getting more levels are unnecessary; I can hit ~34 without abuses and at that point, I probably have enough feats and force powers where going any further is unnecessary. The lightsaber crystal generally gives me enough attribute bonuses, my lightside/darkside mastery will probably give me a bonus, and then whatever Im wearing will usually give some attribute bonuses to balance myself out.
The nice thing about KOTOR II vs KOTOR I is that theres a ♥♥♥♥ TON more flexibility in your build and you can spread out your skills, force points, feats, and attributes to a lot more places than in KOTOR I, and a lot more builds are viable in KOTOR II than in I (I.e., blaster build is generally way better in KOTOR II than in I for your MC).
