I never have a problem with Kavar but if he is getting critical hits there is an implant that stops crits. It is easy to make at a med station (as early as Peragus) and doesn't require high CON.

Bump !!!

I'm about to ditch 41 hours of gameplay to start again because I can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beat Kavar at all.

What class are you? As a Sith Lord I spammed Force Crush and destroyed him.

Equip two strong energy shield, equip any equipment that has energy resistance and crit immunity.

I'm not sure what class he is supposed to be, does he have force jump? Otherwise you could try using speed to take some distance and spam powers or heal.

Maybe you could try placing mines somewhere else in the room before the cutscene trigger and take him there.

There's probably at least one type of grenade that works well against him too.

Im a Sentinel Dark Side. I don't have a prestige class yet; I don't want to use grenades/mines.

No prestige class? Are you actively avoiding getting one because you should be above lvl 15 and well dark side by the time you go back to Onderon. Taking a prestige class gives a free level up and boosts your saving throws. A fully dark side Sith Assassin has a +3 to DEX so gets a boost to defence.

Anyway, the best strategy for tough combats is to have the game set to autopause before combat. Then you can go into the inventory screen, equip and activate an energy shield and shoot up multiple stims before the fight starts. That should boost your stats enough to deal with Kavar. Master energy resistance and Master force speed both make a big difference as well.

As I said, I don't find Kavar a problem and I normally play as a Sentinel. I just cut him down with dual wielding lightsabers and master flurry, as I do with all the jedi masters. I suspect I am at a higher level at the end of Onderon though, compared to where you are.

Something is amiss here. 41 hour playthrough returning to Onderon and still a sentinel. Are you still using a vibro cutter and a miner uniform?

Force hold lol...high level force powers ftw.

The Bothan Sensors are pretty common in early-mid game and have immunity to crits, as well as a host of other skill boosts. I usually keep them equipped for most the game until I get powerful enough that I can dedicate my party members to tasks rather than combat.

Nefarious, after 41 hours, you should be well above lv 15. Apoc, Kavar is a Guardian, but I haven't pinned down his prestige class yet. Most of the Masters, across both games tend to be triple-classed, and if at the end, over the level cap.
