Aspyr Star Wars ports were always low budget type products and I don't think they are actually restoring this game's cut content.
Yeah but they can't just pack a mod and sell it, unless they made a financial deal with the mod creators
Also, I watched that short video in that thread OP linked, however I didn't see anything about a cut content DLC. I saw further down in the thread someone replying to a now deleted reply to the parent comment and they put up these jpegs in KOTOR style font talking about a Cut Content DLC. I don't reckon that's actually an official announcement.
Lots of the cut content didn't have much context to it, so some of it the modders created their own interpretation of the quests and dialogue while implementing it. It's not 100% official content that's restored, some the modders had to make their own judgement calls on it when implementing it. It's not like these cut quests had a bunch of information saying things like "this quest was intended as x y or z and the repercussions was gonna be x y and z, etc", much of it was just pieces of cut dialogue that the modders implemented on their own and interpreted on their own what the quest was gonna be.
They did nothing with KOTOR 1 after it was released on switch
And Aspyr siad in some interview they hope the switch will be the definitive platform for the classic kotor games so yeh...
It's the same what happened with Deadly Premonition. Updated and fixed version was released on the switch and the devs said in a nice way other platforms (mostly pc where the game to this day is a buggy hot mess) can go and ♥♥♥♥ themselfs.
I mean it's not really a big deal cus the PC version has access to tons of mods including the restored content mod and has for years. Even with this DLC coming out, it's still likely that the PC version is still the superior version.
Oh for sure it's just the attitude of the publishers and devs is a bit offputing.
At this point I expect we will soon have Fallout 2 Director's Cut as an switch exclusive.
