Cut Content DLC
The Switch version is being advertised to get an official DLC release of cut content, any chance this will come to the PC version?

I certainly hope so, since I don't want the Switch to be the only system that this content is officially on.

Restored content DLC? That's actually some extremely intriguing news when it comes to Kotor franchise, it means that they have put more work into it years later... Interesting.

I think it's just the mod that community made.

Aspyr Star Wars ports were always low budget type products and I don't think they are actually restoring this game's cut content.

That is about what I am expecting, but just would be nice if it was also available officially as DLC.

Yeah but they can't just pack a mod and sell it, unless they made a financial deal with the mod creators

Maybe Hassat Hunter can answer this.(If he still visits this forum.)

Hassat Hunter still visits forum, I think. I'd be shocked if this alleged new content is anything other than just the current intellectual property owners taking TSLRP and sticking an official label on it. They could do this without compensating and even without asking permission. Modders and fan film makers do what they do for the enjoyment of the game and the franchise and the lore. Sadly they don't get a penny of remuneration for their efforts, which is why fans who do not create or improve content should praise modders for their work.

Also, I watched that short video in that thread OP linked, however I didn't see anything about a cut content DLC. I saw further down in the thread someone replying to a now deleted reply to the parent comment and they put up these jpegs in KOTOR style font talking about a Cut Content DLC. I don't reckon that's actually an official announcement.

The very end of the official trailer for switch says “cut content dlc coming soon”, make sure to actually watch it all.

I'd rather have real cut content from the developers. I do not care for mods to be honest. do not trust them. be cool if their official cut stuff not some fan fic mod devs should get back to giving good content heck they could just remaster one and two which would be nice. instead of "remaking" because I doubt its gonna be any good. most the old games from my era on steam need updated for current ♥♥♥♥ like 144+ monitors and such proper and enforced that way before sold on here. like vtmb I do not want to download fan patches.. Devs are just so lazy now days even if they have the rights, Smh. (yes i know that series is a bit of mess rights, ect) still.. if switch gets cut dlc I hope kotorTsl on here get it also.

My bad. You're right, it was three seconds from the end of the video, so Nintendo is saying Cut Content DLC coming soon. Well, they're not likely to have cut content restored that someone else didn't already restore as a mod. Since they can just take modders' work at zero cost to them and put their official stamp on it, why would they do anything different? Every bit of cut or incomplete content worth putting back in the game has already been done so by TSLRP so what could they possibly include for "Cut Content DLC" that hasn't already been restored by modders?

Lots of the cut content didn't have much context to it, so some of it the modders created their own interpretation of the quests and dialogue while implementing it. It's not 100% official content that's restored, some the modders had to make their own judgement calls on it when implementing it. It's not like these cut quests had a bunch of information saying things like "this quest was intended as x y or z and the repercussions was gonna be x y and z, etc", much of it was just pieces of cut dialogue that the modders implemented on their own and interpreted on their own what the quest was gonna be.

I think at this point there is no hope they will update the pc version.
They did nothing with KOTOR 1 after it was released on switch
And Aspyr siad in some interview they hope the switch will be the definitive platform for the classic kotor games so yeh...

It's the same what happened with Deadly Premonition. Updated and fixed version was released on the switch and the devs said in a nice way other platforms (mostly pc where the game to this day is a buggy hot mess) can go and ♥♥♥♥ themselfs.

I mean it's not really a big deal cus the PC version has access to tons of mods including the restored content mod and has for years. Even with this DLC coming out, it's still likely that the PC version is still the superior version.

Oh for sure it's just the attitude of the publishers and devs is a bit offputing.

At this point I expect we will soon have Fallout 2 Director's Cut as an switch exclusive.
Dacian Rider May 28, 2022 @ 1:25pm
they should add this to the PC version as well.
