Lightsaber Color Crystals Help

So I'm currently playing KOTOR 2 and I have just aquired all the parts to construct my lightsaber. I went to Bao-Dur and made it but it came out green. I looked through my inventory and did not see a green crystal in it so is the color you get when you make your first lightsber random? I tried it a second time and it still came out green. It has been a while since I have played this game so I don't remember how to find color crystals but I do remeber that back when I played this game all the time my lightsaber usually came out orange or at least I had an orange crystal. I am playing dark side so I want a red crystal but orange is close so that would do to. I found out you can buy color crystals back at the duros bros. shop on Telos but all he has is yellow. Is their any way I can get a red or at least an orange crystal now. I am currently on Nar Shadda for the first planet visited. I really would like to complete my saber now and not have to wait or be stuck with a green saber untill later in the game.

use kse_333 save editor or give_item console command and add u_l_colo_04.uti to inven,thehj visit a crafting table and change the colors

I appreciate the advice but I should have mentioned in my post that I’d like to avoid using cheats if I can. If there is a legit way to get a crystal I’d prefer that. If I get down to no other options I may use that cheat but I’d like to find another way first.

And I still want an answer to my question about first time color crystal acquisition. If it’s random or I picked up a green crystal without realizing it.

Dantooine planet has a cave that drops random crystals from placed objects,maybe save before entering and reload until u get a red one?other then that crystals are mostly random drops

edit : as for ur first qustion,i may be wrong but i think the color that is made is set with 'attons' asking why you dont have a lightsaber in the ebon hawk after ur done with peragus,when u tell him what color it was

That’s interesting. I don’t remember what I told him in the past but this time I think I told him “viridian” and I got green. Anyway I may just leave Nar Shadda and go check out those caves then come straight back. Thanks.

Green is the color you get if you have no lightsaber color.

Note Cyan and Bronze are bugged out in vanilla and might either be not excepted or just break the conversation without giving you a saber... of course fixed with TSLRCM.

There are lots of other people/stores that sell saber crystals, you can probably find one from another merchant

If you save before you talk to a merchant for the first time and find you don't like their stock you can load that save and try again as their stock will be different.

Having said that I think some of the rarer colours may be set to certain merchants or locations, not really sure. Reloading should get you a red crystal sooner or later at most merchants.

In the vanilla game it's level-based, so you can't get the fancier crystals until you level way up to the 30s (excluding the fixed spots of course).

Thanks Effix that is very helpful. Unfortunately I am stuck on Nar Shadda now but as soon as I finish it I will head to Dantooine to pick up that crystal

I got a bronze crystal what felt like ridiculously early in my current play through. I believe it was randomly dropped but I really can't remember where from. It's a hit or miss. However, as mentioned before, you can find crystals sold at vendors or inside of lightsabers you find dropped throughout. And you can always try ceberusiv's suggestion of reloading before speaking with a vendor until a color you want is sold, but more than likely you will come across what you are looking for eventually. (I avoid cheats too)...

I'm pretty sure the Atton dialogue about your lightsaber color only affects your actual lightsaber (which, avoiding possible spoilers, someone on Telos possesses initially) and not the first one you make.

I just made my first one and it turned out green, that color might be tied to whatever your starting class is (as green is the color for consulars, which I picked; blue is for guardians and yellow for sentinels)
