Lightside Hero but dark side followers?
HI, im playing a Jedi consul and i ve read a bunch about alignment bonuses and how to corrupt your followers. But i haven't found anyone that has managed to do what i would like to:
Have Handmaiden be a dark Jedi while remaining lightside with the Exile. Is there a way to achieve this? Maybe going for minimum influence and doing nightside things to push them in the opposite direction?

Basically i want 2 dark side followers doing tons of damage with dark force powers while the Exile hangs back and buffs/heals them with light force powers

Yes - alignment is based on influence you you can be lightsided and have dark side followers - however you have to have a certain amount of influence to unlock the Jedi upgrade.

How effective your force powers are has nothing to do with alignment. A Sith will heal as much as a Jedi, a Grey Jedi will deal as much damage with lightning as a Sith, A Jedi can steal as much force with force drain as a Sith, etc. The difference is how much FP it takes. A grey Jedi needs the base amount of FP for everything, a Dark Jedi/Sith uses less on DS powers (lightning, drain etc), but needs more to use LS powers (such as heal). The opposite applys to a Light Jedi. So if you are a melee focus build (such as gaurdian/battlemaster) you want to stick mostly to your side since you have a small FP pool, but most builds can get a huge FP pool (for example my sentinel/master build had like 450 by the end and my consular/watchmen had almost 600) so by that point it doesnt make a huge difference anyways.

Your companions will probably never get a very large FP pool (except for Kreia and Visas since they start as Jedi) so you should train them and then drop your influence to get them to drift away from the Light Side (wait till after they are trained, so that you know, you can actually train them).

ok that clears somethings up thanks. So with the example of handmaiden, id first have to gain influence by being LS and training with her on the EH, start training her and then lose all my influence points? How can i lose influence points effectively with a companion? Run around with handmaiden and being total DS ♥♥♥♥ and then going LS again when she's not in my party?

Or could i use the "negative influence" trick and still get them to go Jedi when my influence is at 0-10 points? got the idea from this thread:
https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/37944-breaking-your-party-members-for-influence/

Ultimately my goal is to get bao-dur and Handmaiden dark side and Mira,Visas and Atton lightside.

Your best bet is to be a total jerk to them and to be evil as heck (or I guess hell in this case) when they are with you

If you want instant and permanent results, download the save editor (You can get it from the workshop) and set your charisma to 99, this causes a glitch that gives your followers the opposite alignment from yourself.

You could, but that would be cheating

Well im using an influence guide to lower my influence with them and also going a little dark because i want to get hanharr. I read something about having trouble with HM if her influence is lower than Visas so im trying to get to level 18 without getting Visas to join me in order to get HM to spar with me 3 times and make her a Jedi.

Stupidly enough I've reached a point where if i get LS or DS points the Visas cutscene happens and im still 80thousand experience away from level 18. So now im trying to visit every planet that i can get off of again without actually advancing the plot or screwing with my current influence levels. XD

I'll keep you updated on whether it works out or not.

I've done it!
Finally.
I've just managed to turn both bad dur and handmaiden as jedis with negative influence. Had a hell of a problem because of Visas, she joined me and then when i got handmaiden's influence down further the conversation with Keri would spark and i couldn't talk with HM anymore. So i went to Onderon to get a few hits to Visas' influence to be able to lower HM further without Kreia getting involved.

Now my next problem is getting my own affiliation to max lightside, had to do a LOT of darkside stuff to get BD and HM down on influence. (Currently pretty grey). Hopefully i can get Visas' influence back up as well.

I now have jedis: Atton (max inf), HM (min inf), BD (min inf), Visas (low inf) and Kreia (high inf)
I wonder if you can make mandator a Jedi? prob. not.

Mandalor cannot become a Jedi, though Mira could if you have her

Aww, thats to bad. I took Hanharr instead of Mira because i want to see what sort of buffs you can get from him, had Mira in my last play through. Also: Holy hell Hanharr is a beast that can slaughter everything! XD
