Does Anybody Know Why Aspyr Media Worked Harder On This Port?
I played a few of their ports on my phone and they do good work.

But there is so much extra stuff here.

Controller support, easy access to the restored content mod, widescreen support, sever bug fixes, achievements etc.

Kotor 1 and several of their other ports don't even have sometimes half of these features.

They really went the extra mile here.

Anybody know why? Or were they just huge fans of the game?

They did what they were paid to do. Disney hold the rights and the purse strings.

They don't own the rights to KotOR 1 on PC. All they were responsible for was the Mac port way back in the day when this game launched.

Then why is the PC port have so much more features then KotOR 1? Same company right? Why would one game in the series have less features then the other?

As cerbusiv explained, Disney owns it. They paid Aspyr to do their stuff. Disney must have decided to do more stuff for this game than others and paid Aspyr to do it. They probably did it because the first game isn't reliant on mods.

This game was a rushed mess on release, TSLRCM basically rescues it but both Kotor games were getting rather dated by the time Disney bought LucasArts. Disney apparently went through all the Star Wars games and decided to have several updated. I would guess Kotor 1 sold steadily but Kotor 2 was getting more returns than sales and so was updated.

But in the end Disney is about making money so they would have decided what got done on sales projections. So no game would get more than they thought they would get back in time.

This has been false for years now.. ESPECIALLY with Star Wars .... >_> I mean they just now finally decided to not let EA keep Star Wars if they were about money that would not have lasted no where near as long (I mean it very likely EA was giving them crazy cash but not as crazy as them having the rights I don't think)

Not to mention the toys/comics/ Reee/ White+luke+lucas+yoda destruction/ High on drugs and or self Republic(that we best all still be praying and hoping does not get a game and for certain does not replace a Kotor, so far was just the 1 silly article mainly so doubt they that stupid but who knows) / attack on fans/ force is for women/ etc...
