Excluding balance. K2 is typical of Obsidian in that regard, but I concur about the story and the systems.

I think in general, people understandably say the first one though. You can't beat it's story and major plot points with II. It tries, but it can't.
Both are amazing, binge both!

KotOR 1 overall felt more consistent quality-wise, mostly when it comes to the writing.
