Best Roles for Each Party Member
What are the best weapons/stats to give each party member? Since I'm playing a big combat bully I thought I'd be using party memeber mostly as skill monkeys but most of my party members so far have more than enough skill points that they can fullfill multiple skill roles easily.

Skills and combat?

KOTOR 1 guide, but it applies to KOTOR 2 on most parts too:

One big exception is that ranged weapons got a big boost in KOTOR 2 thanks to wider selection of weapon upgrades and Precise Shot featline (which reduces lightsabre's bolt deflection chances). Mostly you can just replace the companion names with another ones (Jolee <-> Kreia, Mission <-> Atton, Zaalbar <-> Hanharr, Bastila <-> Mira etc.) and you can largely apply the same things on 'em.

Some companions can be turned into Jedis which spices things up a bit, for example I like to swap Atton to Jedi Sentinel at level 11 (Sneak Attack bonuses) and turn him into blaster pistoleer. Mira can be utilizes in same manner too.

When you train companions to become jedi, do you get a refund of all their stats to respec them? I don't see how they can be viable as Jedi characters otherwise.

This is a basic guide I wrote for builds/equipment for the Kotor 2 party members. It's a pretty decent starting point (even if I say so myself).

No, you don't. It is not a problem as some of them (Atton, Mira) benefit from free feats they get in their starting class level ups and others (Handmaiden, Disciple) can be converted to jedi before you level them up.

I mention how to develop characters in my guide.

Atton is good for a skill junkie Jedi sentinel. Give him two lightsabers or a double saber. Obviously get him all three dual wielding feats. Focus on Dex and a little wisdom if you want him to use force powers. The second force lightning is where its at also give him all three Jedi speed.
I'd also recommend giving every companion at least the second level of healing.
Also make sure to get lightsaber finesse feat.
He's good for security, computer use too.

Bao dur is your tank. He can't wear Jedi robes, so don't give him any Jedi powers that are restricted by armour. Give him 3 levels of dueling feat (the single one handed weapon one) for extra tanking capability.
All three levels of healing power as well. Bao dur will act as your tank /paladin class. Don't bother with any stat effect powers on your enemies, or anything that has saves as most likely they won't work anyway. Don't bother with lightsaber finesse either, focus on strength and constitution.
Just stick with treat injury skill.

Mira is a lot like atton, but focus on dueling instead of dual wielding. Otherwise build her similar to atton. Lightsaber finesse feat for sure. Focus on Dex and wisdom or charisma. She's good for security and computer use

Handmaiden is your front line combatant. Give her dual wielding, two sabers or a double blade, lightsaber finesse, and focus on Dex and strength, maybe a little wisdom.
Don't bother with stat effect powers like fear, slow etc. Just focus on powers that buff her or the party, speed, valour, battle meditation, etc. Definitely all three healing as well. Throw saber should be her only real attacking power, and maybe force lightning if you got the points for it.
Treat injury is the only skill she really needs.

Kreia should be your buffer and debuffer/glass cannon. Fear, kill etc. She is your power junkie, especially if you're a guy and don't have disciple or aren't a consular or at least a wisdom/charisma spec sentinel yourself. Also focus on repair with her.
Disciple is the same as Kreia basically.

Visas is built a lot like Mira and atton, though I'd go with dual wielding.

Mandalore just focus on constitution and heavy weapons, treat injury.

No, they take it as a second class.. That's why you're best not leveling them past 8 max until they become jedi. I usually keep them about level 6 or so.

Go to nar shadaa first, try to stay at least neutral to get Mira, and before you're even done nar shadaa you should be able to have atton, Mira and Bao dur as Jedi. Then you can go dark side if you feel like to make Bao dur look like Darth maul and Mira look way hotter with her eye liner when she's evil lol.

Mira can be pretty tough to do lvl 6 with though, since you have to fight half of a base with her alone and the stuff there badly out levels her that low.

Yeah true. I just did it last play through but I just had tons of grenades and grenaded everyone, ran from hanharr and mined him, and basically b lined it to the exit and let my exile wipe out the rest of the base.

Yeah, it's definitely possible. You just have to build for it in advance and understand it's going to take half the inventory :p
