Merchants generate their stock upon entering the very first conversation with them. So make a quicksave before the very first conversation, conveniently right in front of them, and if you don't like their inventory just quickload.
But if you talk to them, then leave and come back, it's the same, and if you saved after that, you're stuck with it.
It's all good, it's something even I didn't know until recently. I thought it was tied to loading the entire zone the merchant is in, period, so I never bothered.
She's really it.
There's a quest where you get a randomly generated reward from a guy you rescue (if you want to) in the Enclave Sublevel and I do believe the possible rewards are Jedi-related (crystal, saber, saber mod, those sorts of things). Also, if you do certain things in the Enclave you can cheat yourself someone's Will and get items that were looted, and that can also be a crystal (in fact I even got a Barab from that one time). As you go along Dantooine you'll see the opportunities. Talk to everyone.
And since you are on Dantooine I have a question: when you started your game, did you tell Atton that Revan ended up a Sith or ended up saving the Republic?
I mean the opening dialogue way back on Peragus, how did you set Revan?
Yes actually, a few minor things but one big thing.
I'll try to keep this short:
1. On Korriban there's a sealed door that can only be blown open with Thorium from the Sith Academy library
2. On Dxun, there's an EXTRA Mandolorian Cache that is not part of the plot, that normally you can't blow open, because it needs Thorium and there isn't an already placed charge like the plotline cache.
3. On Korriban, since you set Revan as a Sith, the sealed room will have a Holocron, so blow it open.
Now normally, you would have screwed yourself from keeping that Thorium for the extra Mandalorian Cache, BUT, on Dantooine, there is a quest to recruit Militia (which if you're Lightside, you're going to be doing that at some point) and a merchant named Akkere who you probably already met (big eared idiot outside Khoonda).
4, When it's time to recruit, ask Akkere to join, and get him to say "blah blah I can't until someone buys my Thorium blah blah" then buy his Thorium (YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS IN THIS DIALOGUE, YOU CAN NOT DO IT NORMALLY, BE CAREFUL)
Now, depending on how you handle the defense of Khoonda quest later, you might discover Akkere's hydrospanner in a droid. IF YOU WANT THE SECOND, AND THE ONLY OTHER THORIUM IN THE GAME, DO NOT TALK TO HIM ABOUT THE WRENCH WHEN YOU TALK TO HIM ABOUT JOINING THE MILITIA. TALK TO HIM ABOUT THE WRENCH AFTER THE ATTACK, OR AT LEAST, JUST DON'T TALK ABOUT IT BEFORE RECRUITING HIM BY BUYING THORIUM. AVOID THAT DIALOGUE LINE UNTIL YOU BOUGHT THE THORIUM FROM HIM.
Now, you'll have Thorium for both the extra cache on Dxun AND the sealed room in Korriban Sith Academy.
The extra Mandalorian Cache isn't big (it's not even its own interior zone) like the plot quest Cache. It's just a little alcove with I think 4 to 6 containers, and in my experience, they haven't had anything better than typical leveled gear. I have always gotten much better from the main Cache anyway. So if you ever miss it, it's not really that big a deal.
