"You have to bring someone with high security skills, or build up your security skill yourself. A mine won't work. Sometimes I build up Mandalore's security skill to the max so he can open it or build up Atton's security skill so that he can open it."
also I can't recall every box in the game. some are unlocked from a terminal.
Always build your Exile's security skill.
What does it matter. You need high security. Aim for like 25, my security is usually around there by then, with or without boosts. With boosts I'm close to 30, if not at 30. nless you're doing Onderon very early.
And no I doubt it can be modded anyway.
For the record... that container, while having the possibly of having something nice, doesn't always have something nice. If you can't open it you're not missing much. Sometimes there's a crystal, but, crystals aren't THAT hard to get really...
It matters to me for the sake of continuity of mechanics. If people with knowledge of modding are available in this thread then I am interested in their opinions on what it might take to mod one lonely unimportant container regardless of how small it might be. The research and labor would be more rewarding than the container itself.
I don't need assistance on how to have my stats laid out across my party and various skills. I also understand rng affects containers.
Thank you for your input but next time just stick to answering the question.
It doesn't really need to be modded
"Skill too low" = level up quick and come back
"Impossible" = you will not open it no matter how many levels you get in this zone
I agree it doesn't NEED to be modded but I am more curious about the modding aspect of it over the functionality of it and might as well use one thing to get more knowledge about both. Is that what the engine means it to mean or is that your interpretation of it?
Because that is pretty badass for an engine to know that the allotted experience in a zone, my current lvl in security and all the security increasing gear I have in inventory is not enough to open it.
In my experience (100 hours here and hundreds more on Original Xbox) that is what "Skill too low" and "Impossible" mean
I'm sure if you dig through the game files you could find the respective meanings.. old games like this tend to have everything right there for someone to find
if all the +security gear together doesn't equal an additional +10, it probably won't mean much
It can be opened.
You need high security and probably a tunneler or spike tunneler as well (that's how I've done it, high sec plus a tunneler)
It's just text. It can't really be modded.
The "continuity of mechanics" is fine. It's an error in the text.
Get the hell over it already. There's being pedantic then there's "Look how cool I am for caring about something so obscure and niche! That means I care about this game more than you!" No.
Stop going post to post harrassing people just because you're having a bad day
Your steam profile says "the steam community is trash"
No, YOU are trash.. read what you post, you shmuck
Sorry but that doesn't fly. You need to calm down and breath. We're all mature here and know how to talk to each other. Go outside, take a breath and come back in and we can all be friends.
I get man. Once the discussion turned to modding questions you just weren't into it any more. On top of my interest stemming from one container (with exaggeration for comedic effect) that has an error in text that caught my attention.
The thread has been given an answer that you are in agreement with so; why are you blocking the topic once the topic shifted when you could just unsubscribe to the thread?
I do hope you have a better day.
