Crash on WIn 10
I already posted this in the technical support discussions forum, but I think I can get more people here to read it, so I post it again. Sorry for that :)

I have a huge problem with getting the game to run properly. After a few minutes of playing the game either lags and then crashes, I enter a new area and it crashes in the loading screen, it crashes while I am in the character menu or it crashes while saving.
Most of the time, but not always, I get the message: Microsoft Visual C++ crashed. Library runtime error. On other occasions the game crashes just with a Windows notification that the program has stopped working.

The game specs:
- Steam version
- TSLRCM installed

PC specs:
- Intel i7 950 3,06ghz
- Nvidia GTX 1050ti 4GB ddr5
- 8gb ram
- Win 10

Fixes I tried:
- Frame buffer off
- V-Sync on
- soft shadow off
- single core running on cpu
- running directly from /common/Knights of the Old Republic II/swkotor2.exe
- reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2017
- read only is off on the location folder

Basically I run out of solutions, which worked for others. If anyone could help me please :)

PS: Sorry for my english.

Have you verified the game files through Steam library?

Is the game definitely using your Nvidia card or is it defaulting to integrated graphics?

Try setting the exe file to compatibility for WinXP SP3, also set it to run as administrator while you are there.

If still having problems, does the legacypc version of the game run properly?

I´m currently running the game on WinXP SP2 and in adminstrator (Forgot to write that)
How do I verify the game files? I downloaded the game from steam, doesn´t that happen automatically?
I´ll will give the legacypc version a try, but can I run that version in FullHD and with restored content?

You can verify your game files in through the steam library. Right click the game and go to properties, local files. There you should see an option to Verify the Integrity of the files.

Legacypc is the original game without the update. You would need to use Flawless Widescreen for the resolution and download TSLRCM from Deadlystream.

Before you resort to that check the "various start up crash solutions" section of this guide.

The Nvidia threaded optimisation fix and running in windowed mode may both be worth trying although I am just about out of ideas at this point.

Have you checked hyperthreading and dep? The game works on windows 10. Also do try windowed mode. I never been able to play this game properly fullscreen so used windowed mode with no issues.
