I can't train Bao-Dur to be jedi?
So I played the game again after a while. I remember that Bao-Dur can be trained sooner (I think the first playthrough I did, I trained him right after I arrived at Nar Shadaa as my second planet after Telos). Now I just tried training him the same fashion, but there's no option to do so this time. I'm currently at the point where I'm about to meet the squid exchange boss alone. I checked his influence point with KSE and it's 74. Did I do something wrong? I planned to go to Onderon/Dxun after Nar Shadaa where I think I can get more influence point for Bao-Dur, though. So I hope I can train him ASAP. Thanks!

One easy bit of influence you can grab is the Atmospheric Sensors in the Kinrath Cave on Dantooine. Just head over as early as you like, grab the sensors (But make sure you have Bao-Dur in your party!) he will offer to crack open the sensors, revealing the communication system inside. This bags you a neat bit of influence.

This is how I normally get Bao-Dur trained as a Jedi before I even meet with Visquis in the Jek-Jek Tarr.

IIRC you have to do 3 light sided choices around him and then the dialogue will open up

Okay I guess I head on and continue the playthrough. Will update ASAP. Thanks!

Oh yeah, that's right. That's one way to get Bao-Dur become a jedi real quick. I was past the point of going back the Ebon Hawk, so in the end I did a new playthrough. What I did was I went with Bao-Dur only to met the guy who was mugged by two Exchange thugs in the Nar Shaddaa landing zone, paid his debt, and refrain from taking any thanks from the guy. This works after I gained as much influence back in Telos. Talking to him in the Ebon Hawk doesn't do a thing. Thanks so much for sharing!

I'm having trouble with Bao-Dur as well. I've gotten 4 INF points with him - one on Telos (ice academy), Nar Shaddaa (saving the guy near the pit), and two on Dantooine (atmospheric sensors, in the cave and talking to Saedhe). I go back to the ship, exhaust the convo options and keep getting "Yes, General?" like it's f***ing irritating, I'm playing a DS exile and I don't want to have to keep getting LS points to make this damn Iridonian happy, like wtf

Legit never had this problem before. I have a good system down for turning Bao-Dur, he's literally the first character I turn into a Jedi/Dark Jedi after Telos, and now the game is just being shi*** with me. Ugh.

You do get ne Dark Side influence with him. I do it every time. On Nar Shaddah when you go to save the guy from the thugs, Mind Trick the thugs to jumping over the railing. Bao Dur isn't too thrilled about it, but he'll approve of you saving the guy, so gains influence.

Talking to Bao Dur on the Hawk does nothing for influence. I just keep inviting him when I go somewhere. The sensors are great. Easier to have conversations with him away from the Hawk.

In vanilla you could kick Kreia from your party anytime you were about the kill an "innocent" on Telos to avoid her scolding dialog, then bring Kreia with you into the Military Base on Telos' surface, then kill the stranded Czerka Twi'lek, which would prompt her scolding dialog for the first time, which would give Bao-Dur positive influence. Then you just had to say nice things to him when freeing him from the Hidden Base, let him tinker with Airspeeder on Nar Shaddaa and compliment his help, and his influence would be in the 90s! Only the nice words in the Hidden Base gave Light Side points, so this is easily doable for a Dark Side character.

But again, that's vanilla, so if you're playing with mods that "fix" the character interactions, it's a bit more tricky to be a terrible person and still get Bao-Dur to max-influence early on. But as previous posters have mentioned, there are many opportunities to rush him to a Jedi.
