KOTOR vs TSL

which do you like better and why?
personally, I like the first one better because I like the characters and storyline better.

If you don't get the restoration project with the fixings KOTOR 2 is a seriously wounded game after a certain point in the story.

Well i mean also the characters aren't really all that interesting other than mandalore and kriea, i dont think the restoration project will really fix that.

KOTOR 1 was 20 hours on telos, then suddenly you are a jedi then 20 hours wandering to 4 planets

The boring sand planet,
the fish people who have one line of dialog they repeat to drive you insane.
the wookies who have one line of dialog they repeat to drive you insane
the Sith Planet

then a twist everyone saw coming. 20 hours ago shows up and then you make a choice and get one of two endings.

Kotor 1 had the genoharadan quest line which would be nice to have in KOTOR 2.

Kotor 2 has a shorter introduction period where you level up more, I was 8 before leaving the mining station and 14 or so and nearly a prestige class jedi before leaving telos. And I'm not suddenly a jedi because here have a lightsaber.

then you have the 4 planets.
the ruined jedi conclave. defend the settlers or destroy the settlers. clear LS and DS paths.
the ruined sith temple. Apathy is death. expanded with restoration mod to include droid planet.
the Civil war with mandalorians and such. again clear LS and DS paths. no fish speak.
and Nar Shadaa the crime underworld center with bounty hunters and such.

which is just leagues better than KOTOR1's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 4 planets.

Characters were just better too.

the restoration project fixes the ending. doesn't make it great, but makes it more coherent at least. KOTOR 1 had a better ending, but thats it.

Well first off on kotor 1 it's Taris, and the mining colony was incredibly boring. The characters really arent that interesting, the villians other than kriea are cheesy at best. The droid planet is just a planet full of fetching missions and it kinda sucks. The mandalorian moon is fun and all but a bunch of the planets kinda suck, like Nar Shadaa. Kotor 1 is waaaay better.

KOTOR has more of a traditional Star Wars feel re. characters and plot, bound to certain conventions but does a great job putting you right into that universe.

TSL has improvements to gameplay and has a more complex plot although IMO it doesn't fit into the SW universe quite so easily. It's still very good (with the restoration mod), probably play it more than the original since KOTOR relies more on a couple of big spoilery plot points.

also I like kotor 2 better more things for hard core eu fans to enjoy. Lightsaber forms, darth sion ect

I like kotor 2 way better. The first one was cool and all but you replay it and realize how childish the choices and dialogue are, your options are just "I r evul kill all children" or "I am more squeaky clean than Jesus himself".

you know you don't need to master light side or dark side. I mean in Kotor 1 you can be lightside, but still do Genoharadan. you just need to save some children from a fire to make up for it.

point systems are like that.
