do you think the introduction is too boring?
for me it was the most annoying thing of the whole game

Mining station? Kinda liked it, since it reminded some sort of horror movie... with star wars setting.

I liked it at first. It had a very dark and mysterious feeling that really pulled my in the first time, and was still around to a certain degree the second time. However after a couple of times it gets repetitive and boring...there is a mod that lets you skip it but it gives you some items you shouldn’t be able to get yet (which you can get rid of quite easily by going back a bit and putting them in a box), and a disproportionate amount of XP, so I don’t use it. Sadly no one has made a mod to skip it without getting all that stuff do for now it’s cheat or suffer through peragus...

if you know where to go, you can buzzsaw through peregus. i think when the first sith lord appears and you have to board the jumpship (forgot the name wanna say the voyager?) it gets better, especially going against the sith assassins. telos can be a drudge too at times imo.

in kotor 1, tarsis can be challenging. but i'll admit the first scene where the pc has to escape the ship is fun as heck.

The thing is, that it still gonna take at least 90 minutes, which I’d rather spend doing something else

Both games have openings that are absolute slogs after your first run.

There is a mod that lets you skip Peragus, I think.

Yeah, but it gives you some items you shouldnt get till way later, as well as more XP then you should be able to get in Peragus

With speedboost and skipping through dialogue, you can beat Peregus in under 90 minutes. There is also trying new things to beat it, trying different builds, etc.

I beat this game countless times and never skipped a dialog. I still enjoy Peragus-Harbinger stage.

However Chris Avellone stated that if he could write the game today he would cut prologue to half of its length.

speedrunners can do the whole game in 1 hour

Those are speed runners though.

Boring isn't the word I'd use, lonely is a bit better. I wouldn't mind Peragus except it's like an hour or so to just get off and on to the cruiser. I get what they were going for, everyone's dead Jim, and you slowly piece together how it happened. In theory a lot better of a start than 'the sith are attacking the ship, just go through and get to the escape pod!' like in 1, but they went a bit overkill for how much story there was to reward gameplay. A reasonable runthrough should be able to get you to the Ebon Hawk in about 25 minutes i'd say. People probably wouldn't care so much if they just kept it a bit shorter.

Even worse than BioWare's predictable structure in KOTOR 1 was the way Obsidian started off KOTOR 2. Since when has fiddling with computer terminals and walking around in a maze with copypasted corridors been fun? I had to put in some serious effort to push through Peragus. It seems like the game is picking up a little now, but what were they thinking with that intro? Yeah, you can say it tried to be all ominous, desolate, and atmospheric with the abandoned space station theme, but that only carries a game so far—especially when the game in question has terrible graphics.

That said, I found some of the audiologs interesting to listen to, but the whole thing just dragged on way too long. I enjoyed for a good while until it became repetitive and I started wondering when the actual game starts.
