You will need to have saved up half a dozen good shields (droid deflector Mk III or unity grid). You also need a max upgraded rifle - I favour a Verpine droid disintegrator myself but a Zersium rifle or having an upgraded disrupter rifle and swapping its upgrades into the Assassin's rifle work equally well.
Assuming this is your first playthrough you will have to go with what you have. So equip and activate the best shield available and run to one of the side doors and get right in the corner furthest from the door you entered by. That should take you out of line of sight of several of the HK 50's so you don't have to deal with them all at once. Then it is just a slugfest. Pause and renew your shield immediately it goes down and otherwise just keep firing. If you don't have a top line weapon make use of any droid weapons, like plasma throwers, you have.
Standing and fighting them all is to be avoided, getting into the corner of a side door works for me.
The HK Factory showcases one of the tactics game developers love to use. You are against impossible odds, so what do you do?
RUN TO THE MAGIC BUTTON!
Obsidian never intended for you to kill all the HK50s. What a boring, monotonous fight. And a complete waste of time.
Run to the HK51 room and start production of HK51s. Download your template into them. Run to the HK50 room and stop production of those. The HK51s will now show up to help you and kill everything.
I hated this level. Obsidian and BioWare (Mass Effect 3) are birds of a feather. Both of them love crap like this.
I believe this was designed by the TSLRCM dev team not Obsidian
This would be true if the fight was even remotely difficult.
