Sithspecter's High Quality Blasters - really good, massively improves the appearance of all the ranged weapons.
Deadman's Quarterstaff mod - improves most of the staff weapons.
Deadman's cyberswords - I really like this one, makes the vibroswords look really cool. Unfortunately doesn't include double or vibroblades but someone fairly recently did a further mod for the Kotor 1 version that does these so hopefully a Kotor 2 version of that will appear.
I'm OK with the appearance of the normal armour suits so can't suggest anything there. However I loathe the look of the Jal Shey/Zeisen Sha armours and most of the reskins for them are just reimaginings of the same idea. However there is an Armoured Robes mod by 90SK which totally changes the appearance of these items. I'm on my first playthrough with it and there are a couple of things I'm not entirely happy with but the different look is much better in my book.
There is a reskin of Darth Malak's armour to make it look more Kotor 1 but I haven't tried that one yet.
Finally there is Kainzorus Prime's Peragus Mining Gear mod which makes the Peragus miner uniform look like something more sci-fi than a pair of overalls. Recommended.
I have had no problems with mod conflicts with any of these so far. I use workshop TSLRCM and had no issues leaving the Telos polar academy which is the point most TSLRCM related conflicts show up.
The vanilla armors/robes aren't terrible imo, but I think some models especially could use some higher resolution textures, and some polish here and there.
The vanilla armours and robes aren't bad, as you say, particularly as you will only use a few for your party members. I just happen to not like the JS/ZS armours. Incidentally, be careful with steam workshop armour mods. Effixian's are OK afaik (he is careful about that) but the Epic Armours mod definitely conflicts with TSLRCM.
