There's an easy mode (which I found is way too easy) that you can probably consider a get out of jail free card. Other than that, I've read the beginning of the game is hard and the character gets more powerful.
Having the hero of the story constantly hide from enemies is pretty immersion killing but what are you gonna do
Manually level all characters and get everyone their personal weapons and armour (with the best upgrades you can make), including having gear ready for Mira/Hanharr.
Atton in the bar vs the Twin Suns - run behind the bar and shoot them. Simple.
Atton + Bao Dur to the docks. Pick Visas - by this point she should have a lightsaber and third tier stasis or insanity power and just immobilize and chop all the opposition.
Atton, Mira/Hanharr and T3 from the flophouse to Tien Tubb's workshop (TSLRCM). Pair of disrupter pistols and sith suit for Atton, pair of blasters and Mandalorian heavy suit for Mira, pair of Ryyk blades and save up Mandalorian power shields for Hanharr. The hardest part is the Duros on entering the central hub. Hanharr can carve through them but if you have Mira send Atton in to melee while she guns them down.
Goto's yacht I take Mira and Visas - just find the main character and he/she should do the rest.
After Telos I do the enclave sub level and crystal cave on Dantooine, that gets the main character prestige class.
I have played many times and never find combat hard even on the hardest difficulty, it just takes preparation in levelling and equipment.
1) Don't auto-level, save up the levels. Use them during fight to restore hp back to full.
2) Glue grenades. No, really.
You can always turn around back to the docks and wait for health to regenerate.
With T3 in the droid facility, I untintentionally didn't level him up. So that made taking out the HK's somewhat of a breeze, doing what @anarcher said.
I still think switching to easy is less immersion-killing than doing a lot of these tricks. Less rewarding probably.
I'm doing first Dantooine this playthough. Good to know it recommended.
Just to clarify, I don't do all of Dantooine initially, just the enclave and crystal cave. With TSLRCM that is enough to get me to prestige rank and a lightsaber. Also if you chose a female character that gets you Disciple. Then I usually do Nar Shaddaa, Onderon part 1, finish Dantooine, Onderon part 2, Korriban and finally M4-78 before the end sequence.
Yeah, I got my lightsaber by doing the enclave until I got the part, then going to Nar Shaddaa and getting the lens fixture from Lootra. Much quicker way then doing straight Nar Shaddaa.
It isn't influence based, it can't be done in the vanilla game, you have to install the restored content mod. You just have a conversation with HK47 after rebuilding him, let him look at the sonic imprint sensor from Peragus (hint: krek beetles) and a quest will trigger.
M4-78 is not the HK factory, it is a mod that gives an extra planet.
