Problem with updating - 2015 Patch KOTOR 2 Collection - FIXED ??
Hello

I am running Windows 10 and I can't update the game "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords". I've tried the UK patch 1.0a and 1.0b on Windows XP comb mode and admin rights. Both of them report the same error "Missing or Invalid Registry/INI entry" "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match".

Yes I've tried moving the patch file to the game install dir. Yes I checked the comb and admin rights. Yes I've checked the registry entries and verified them online. Yes I've reinstalled the game. Yes the game and the update are UK version.

This is the CD-ROM Star Wars KOTOR collection not the STEAM digital version.

Specs just if the can help you:
i7 980 GTX 460
Nvidia Driver : 378.49

Thank you for your attention

Win 10 32 or 64 bit? (registry location is different)
Gavenatore Feb 10, 2017 @ 2:23pm
64 bit.
HKLM/Software/Wow6432Nod/BioWare/SW/KOTOR2

That is not correct. It should be in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > LucasArts > KotOR2

You may possibly find further hints in my guide (for the game path it assumes you have the Steam version though):

I hope you can figure things out, good luck

Unfortunately that didn't worked.

Aw ok, you could download KotOR Tool and run it to make sure your registry entry is ok now. If it is then I'm afraid I'm out of ideas.
You could post on Deadly Stream, perhaps someone there knows more about the Collection issues.

FIXED?? :
It seems that you cannot update KOTOR 2 if you have the KOTOR Collection.

Ok, that sucks. I got this Steam version very cheap when it was on sale, keep an eye on that. I also already had the disc version but the included widescreen update alone makes it worth it.

There is no patch for the DVDs. It comes with 1.0b installed.
Gavenatore Feb 16, 2017 @ 2:25am
I have no HD or controller support or any features that come with the latest patch.
The DVD Collection was released in 2012 and the Patch in 2015.
Again, not the Steam version
Hassat Hunter Feb 16, 2017 @ 2:29am
That's because that patch is Steam-only.

LIKE I SAID:
It seems that you cannot update KOTOR 2 if you have the KOTOR Collection.

Do you want me to repeat that one more time or not?
Hassat Hunter Feb 16, 2017 @ 8:02am
You would be correct.
As stated, there are no patches for the DVD collection.
Gavenatore Feb 16, 2017 @ 8:18am
You're kidding me right? LOL. I mean , I didnt know it, regardless if I've already posted it on this thread

BTW Did you knew that you cannot update KOTOR II if you have the DVD Collection?
Hassat Hunter Feb 16, 2017 @ 8:22am
You tried running 1.0b on the DVD version, they come pre-patched.
Only 5 hours ago (after I responded mind you) did you mention the Steam update.
