Major lag
I've started a new game but all of the security camera cutscenes have a major lag issue and after I go into a hallway at the peragus level it lags real bad. Does any one know what's happening

im not sure but that is happening with me. The security turn of some of the affects in graphics, but the lag is also elsewhere and i don't know how to fix that

its only if you look in a certain area for me. for instance when kreia is tuning you to the force to focus on the mining droids in the next room it lags but when i pany camera over the lag stops so funky

Hi everyone, I cannot promise this will fix any problems, but I recommend running an game-file integrity check through Steam. It may solve corrupt files if any exist.

To do this first go to the game library, right click "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II" then "properties" then the tab named "local files" and finally "verify integrity of game files"

Edit: Also, try adjusting the in-game visual settings, set those to the lowest settings and see if that helps with game play.

Everytime I get past the security room of the Administration Level of Peragus, the fps drops to 1. However, in suffering through the 1fps gameplay, I did discover a few things: the fps drop only occurs when the camera is facing north or when you are in the upper right quadrant of the map (I'm less sure about the second one). Any fixes would be awesome, I've tried most everything from older discussion posts.

Found a solution. What broke the game for me was the update they released in 2015, so running the game in Legacy Mode fixes the problem.

In order to run in Legacy Mode, go to the game properties of KOTOR II from your library, then go to the beta tab. Click on the dropdown box to run it in legacy mode (should be the second opton).

But that means no higher resolutions, no achievements, and no workshop mods. ♥♥♥♥ dat! This should not be an all or nothing situation. With my HD 4000 I could play even AC4 Black Flag...I mean, granted it was often at 10-15 fps, which is borderline masochistic, but it DID play. But this is a drop from 167 to 1 in an instant!

HD 4000 is less than the minimum spec required for the updated game. The reason is the updated game uses routines only available with HD 4400 or later.

Currently having this exact same issue... Any ways to fix it and still get to play widescreen? Don't care about losing achievements or mods, only mod I plan to use is restored content which can be done without the workshop, just want the game to play smoothly and in widescreen. For some reason in my betas menu I don't have a drop-down menu to play in legacy mode. Any one ever find a fix??
