Interestingly enough, I'm just finishing up a guide to the DLC which I should be posting later today (in a few hours). That should provide more detailed information for you.

In short, the DLC's are great IF:
- You want an early game advantage (since you start off with stronger equipment)
- You are a gun enthusiast who likes to see different weapon and clothing varieties
- You enjoy doing missions and like the standalone Special Ops missions
Modders may be disappointed that most of the new maps are not available in the Mission Creator. They might still like the new visual assets for weapons and clothing though.
I bought the Overlord Edition myself back in June, but I only got the Resistance Kit yesterday (and it was mainly so that my DLC Summary guide could be complete with all relevant details).
