It's like holding a mirror up to yourself, very thought-provoking!!

Insomnia: Theater in the Head is a rather lovely title. It's not one which you'll be getting hours of gameplay out of. The story isn't anything grand. And yet it's a rather simple and engaging title. A title which, while short, leaves you satisfied.

The music and visuals are charming. The music is not anything mindblowing. But there's a dreamlike quality to it, fitting for the game it's apart of. But there is an added element of whimsy which the visuals help bring out. Everything just feels full of life, yet chaotic during the main character's struggle. The visuals are also a great representation of showing what they are going through.

The gameplay is just simple puzzles. There are none that will leave you stumped, a couple of them taking a couple of minutes to figure out what in the stage I needed to click on to progress. But all the gameplay is tied wonderfully to the events through the night.

The story is honestly refreshing. It's a rather simple thing the main character is going through, but I feel it's something many people go through. In one way or another, people can relate along the lines of something similar. But it's nothing grandiose in scope. It's at the micro level, focusing solely on our main character. And even in the end, they do not solve everything. But it feels like a start, and the ending leaves me satisfied knowing where things can go from here.

This game is short, clocking in a little over half-an-hour. But the game's price is absolutely perfect. This isn't going to be a game that you'll be running back to again-and-again. This game is a light puzzle game which is perfect for a playthrough. I'd recommend going on through. Take in the beauty of what the team has crafted. And find yourself lulled by what the team was able to accomplish.

Yup - very relatable. I actually found it quite sad at some points. I was just thinking "Should we really be living this way? Should we really be like this?" Big hug to the creator. <3
