How to Enable Developer Mode (and Cheats!)

I discovered how you can enable developer mode, which enables the in-game cheats.

Create a Lua directory in the main game folder. Then, create a blank text file in that folder named autorun.lua. The contents of autorun.lua should be:

Platform.developer = true

You'll also get a frame rate counter in the top right.

Known Issues
You can't exit to the main menu. The game will stay on the loading screen forever apparently. You'll have to press Alt+F4 at that point.

I'm not sure if any other problems arise because of developer mode.

Cheats

Type the following cheats in the game:

	- chbigdeal:		adds 20K dirty and clean cash
	- chsecretstash:	adds 150 storage and 50 beer, liquor, and firearms
	- chfearme: 		maxes out fear rating
	- chfancysuit: 		maxes out like rating
	- charmsrace: 		adds all weapons to inventory
	- chfeellucky: 		wins a tactical mission
	- chcementshoes: 	loses a tactical mission
	- chfullhouse: 		unlocks all henchmen
	- chplayground: 	unlocks all districts
	- chdrycity:		wins current district
		
This cheat is also supposed to work:
	
	- chding <num>:		levels up to <num>

But nothing happens.

Note: I recommend typing these cheats with the pause menu open, so that you don't scroll or press any hotkeys.

That's not actually developer mode, as it only enables partial developer content, same as doing it at that stage would have for Tropico 4 or The First Templar. The biggest issue you'll face if you get enough of developer mode working is you'll trip snipping of localisation, so buttons and various interface things will just return "snipped".

Anyway, the file can be called anything provided it doesn't collide; you can equally use folders with the name: 'CommonLua' or 'Data'.

I'll also add the easier fix I posted on the Kalypso forums:

1. Make a folder called "Data" in the Omerta directory.
2. Put the following one line of code into a file within the "Data" directory (something like "cheatfix.lua" seems appropriate):

AreCheatsAvailable = function() return true end

3. Play.

Where are you finding the Omerta directory? Nothing comes up on my PC with a windows 7 search except an empty pictures folder? Thank you for any help, can't find it anywhere.

When you create a Lua file to write the command code within the Data folder can this be a text or word file or am I off by a long shot? .Lua is the name or extension of the file?

To change level use chding12 which is the highest level I obtained. It seems that only lvl11 and lvl12 works, so chding12 should be the best.

Has anyone gotten 'chdrycity' to work? I want to skip the Georgia Ave mission since it's bugged and Kalypso doesn't seem to care.

"Platform.developer = true" seems to work for me but it freezes when I won the mission. alt+4 closes the whole game

Georgia Ave is broken for me as well. It skips from collect $$500 to objective Risky Delivery instead of Outfoxed.
