Multiplayer issues

Are the devs still active? I'm having some issues with multiplayer.

A few days ago the server was down, but then it came back up again, and every time me and my friend would play exactly 1 match we would both have to restart the game because it would keep showing the message "looking for game" without ever connecting, while the number of players also looking would alternate between -1 and 0.

Then the day before yesterday something miraculous happened and we were able to play about 3-4 matches without having to restart the game.

Then yesterday we went to play again and it has not worked ever since. Now when we try to look for a match, we get the loading screen, as if it was working normally, but then after a few seconds it goes back to the lobby and keeps showing the "looking for game" message.

And the option to challenge a friend seems completely broken. When we accept the challenge nothing ever happens.

Also, since yesterday, every single time we check the integrity of our local files it says a file has failed to validate.

I am not sure if this could have something to do with it, but when we were playing the other day, my friend got the achievement Blood Red Eyes and I automatically got it as well, without doing anything. I do not think this is the intended behavior because we also got several other achievements while playing and none of them unlocked automatically for the other player when one of us got it.

Is there something you or we can do?

Are other players (if you exist) having issues as well?

The issue is still happening as of Aug 2018 "unable to connect to game server" when trying to do multiplayer. I'm uninstalling the game now.

I wonder if Kalypso took the servers down without saying anything. Seems like a pretty crappy thing to do, given that:

• part of the appeal for the DLC they're still selling is that it gives you "extra maps" for different game modes, including multiplayer
  
• you're stilll prompted to register after you install the game (though you can skip that)
  
• there's 2 achievements you can only unlock in multiplayer

I have played other games multiplayer that had their official servers taken down, usually via some sort of virtual LAN (like Hamachi), but I didn't see any workarounds for this title. If anyone figures it out, please let the rest of us know. I hate not being able to 100% a game just because the devs stopped giving a damn.
