Then we have another issue with the theme of a sequel. What time period should it be in? The prohibition era have always been a gold mine for writers. It has all the bad stuff but you can easily leave out slavery, prostiution, drugs and more without any problems while keeping the draw of gangsters just going against the government and ridiculous legislations. There is not a lot of other time periods that has the romanization and public appeal other then the prohibition era. It was a time where guns was everywhere due to that the soldiers of WW1 was simply given their service weapon when they left and gun laws was relaxed as all hell. That just doesn't happen anymore. I don't think a game where you smuggle humans over borders and sell drugs and stuff is a game that most people want to play.
About the assualt rifle. I think it is a bad idea, what you want is not an assualt weapon but a better Tommy gun which is horrible design. You shouldn't have two guns which are the same but one of them are superior. If one gun doesn't need to be there it shouldn't exist at all. It is also an issue with assualt weapons in general. Assualt weapons which I see as the type of fully/semi automatic weapons like the AK-47 and stuff like that are not really meant to fire in full auto mode. They can, but if you want to hit something you tend to fire in 3 shot bursts and not on full automatic. The Tommy Gun is actually meant to fire in full automatic, it was created to be a trench sweaper gun in WW1 but didn't really catch on. The reason the gangsters of the prohibition era are famous for using them is because the creators of the Tommy Gun was about to go bankrupt and started to sell the guns to the general population, which the general population was not that happy about. The gangsters found a use for them and they made them famous from their shootouts with other criminals and police. In WW2 they was adopted and given to special units such as paratroopers. The Tommy Gun in the game have low accuracy because the Tommy Gun had low accuracy and it have to balance for the fact it can hit all enemies at the same time.
You said you wanted a game in the 50's and 60's. I am reading up on the gangs in the 50's and in New York for example the gangs didn't fought over money and drugs and whatever. They fought over turf and girls because they was druged up addicts looking for the next fix. If you want to play in the 50's and 60's you got to become a drug addict fighting over petty issues in racial gangs. Drive by shootings was a rare thing in those days.
I doubt there will be a sequal to this game. There is no much good materials to work with outside of the prohibition era to work with.
This is the game's biggest problem. When you dread so much a necessary part of the game... You just end up avoiding the game itself.
I still play but I still hate the combat.
BTW, I would love to play the original game and TJI on Iron Man mode but... on recent replay, just for fun... There are wayyy wayyyy to many moments at the end of missions where if you lose a battle, on IM mode you must restart the stage. Nuh-uh. No way am I putting myself through that.
+1
No we need a remke of Gangsters Organized Crime
It's on GOG and myabandonware.com I believe, I think it's harder to get the game running on modern hardware/software.
Players want a mafia multiplayer game where they can fight each other for the control of a city.
Mix of Management,strategy and tactics.
A lot of people don't care if games have multiplayer. That is not why it failed. Just bad forced combat. Not to say it's multiplayer didn't fall short somehow , but I never tried it as I am one of those people who does not care about multiplayer. Honestly your lucky it even had it.
