Stuck in Animus loading screen! Argh!

Am I the only one who has this glitch? I just got to the part of the game where you arrive in America and the game was loading...and loading...and loading... you get the point.
I wandered aimlessly in the nimus for about 10 minutes... then I had to Alt+ctrl+del my way out of the situation and try to load again.
Now every time I try to load desmond just stays running around in the Animus eternally!

No there are a ton of us, Ubisoft is not responding, have multiple support tickets... no answers except automated messages. Ubisoft will just tell you to check the system requirements and no acknowledgement that there is a problem. No word of a patch and no acknowledgement that the product is not working for a large number of PC customers. At this point I just want my money back.

Apparently not because I'm having the same issue. It just started last night.

Uninstall Uplay and then Reinstall Uplay. That is what ended up fixing it for me.

Stuck on loading screens too. I just finished sequence 8 and stuck on the loading screen after the cutscene after the sequence.... I really hope I don't lose all my progress.

Thanks OnlyOneWing, I've had the same issue and spent a few weeks thinking it was one of those hilarious "laptop graphics cards are unsupported" situations, but reinstalling it solved the problem for me too.

Glad it helped. I had almost given up on the game and the last thing I did was completely uninstal/reinstall Uplay. It was just a hail-Mary, but it worked.

I'm sorry to open up such an old discussion, but I hope that this can help anyone. In Assassin's Creed III, I was stuck just after sequence 8. The last thing I saw was the trip to Brazil in the Van. There it stopped for me. I was 10 minutes waiting in the Van and the game did not load. I had to use ctrl + alt + delete. After that I tried to restart te game, but then I was stuck at the loading 'screen' where I could only walk with Desmond and do nothing more.

The only thing that worked for me was to install the whole game again. I first tried to re-install Uplay, and that didn't work. After that I reinstalled the game and it worked.

i validated the game had to replace over 700meg of files but it fixed it.
