AC3 convoy won't send, trade menu unresponsive/glitched

So yeah, I got to the part where the game forces me to send convoys. Took me into the menu and I purchased some oak lumber. After I purchased the wood, the menu glitched up. All I could do was scroll between recipes, forest and trading post or something. Nothing was clickable or enterable nor could I exit. Now my save is stuck in the convoy menu. And I know this because I forcibly exited the game and came back in to restart right back in the menu I didn't want to be in.
But when I came back I went straight to the trading post option, hit enter and it actually went through. So I set up the convoy, resource, merchant and all and it gave me the option to send the convoy with the spacebar. But am I doing something wrong here? I set up the convoy to send, got the send option, and pressed the spacebar. Nothing happened. Spammed my spacebar to no avail. Rebooting the game did nothing.

Someone please tell me what the hell is happening and what I can do to get past this. Because I'm starting to lose my patience with this game.

Please check the THREADS before starting a new one where this has already been covered. It is a BUG and seems to be a perma loop with some people. Try hitting other keys or change what your spacebar does in controls (ie, change it to the V key or something). See if that helps. If it doesn't, spam some other keys in general. Some people have got it to work by hitting an off key that doesn't seem legitamate but works. If you can find no answer, problem might be that you are afflicted with the perma bug. Good news is the patch is forthcoming tomorrow or Friday by latest. Sorry for your problem. Are you in the Homestead when you try to do this?

Try spamming another key by chance. If it doesn't work, your game is bugged and there will be nothing you can do til the patch comes. Sorry

Well, I changed the key as you suggested and spammed it proper. When this failed I resorted to dragging my face across the keyboard also to no avail. Thanks for your efforts.

You´re lucky - i still cannot connect to uplay - it seems to be impossible for me just to start the game. :( And I hoped with Steam there isn´t such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like uplay.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft decided to have Uplay update while installing the game. This is creating a loop that a lot of people are having. Trying updating UPLAY with the external link provided in my Discussion Thread to see if that helps. Also try updating VC Redist for your appropriate system to see if that help also. The external link that is. Hope you get it working

Also, did you try to Alt-Tab out of the game to see if your Firewall is blocking AC3 access? That may be the culprit as well.

Did the recommended action in your thread. Didn't change anything. Also tinkered with the firewall settings a little but that didn't do any damage either. At this point, I don't think there's much else to try other than starting a new game. So I'm going to wait until the upcoming patch and hopefully that fixes things.

I did just now. And thank god I just happen to have a working Xbox 360 controller for occasions such as this. I'll try it soon.
