Lock picking doesn't work
I've been using a 360 controller to play, but whenever I go to pick a lock, it fails. I get both angles, but when the breaking part starts, the slider finishes then resets. If I don't move the analog sticks, it goes right back to the breaking phase, so it isn't me screwing up the angles.

This has only happened on chests, the door in the Opera House worked fine.
This only happens when using the controller, if I switch to mouse/keyboard, lock picking works fine and finishes when the slider about 80% done.

Anyone else having a problem with it?

It's really picky and kind of a pain in the ass. The game doesn't really explain this mechanic thoroughly but it seems like you have to find the angle on both analog stick, then once you find those you have to start mashing the right bumper (I think..I'm playing on PS3 and in that version it's the R1 button) a number of times, while keeping your thumbs perfectly still, before the slider reaches the end.

It's a total pain in the ass and some are harder than others.

Its very hard, what I do is focus on the controller and not look at the screen until I hear the money sound, that way i can keep my fingers steady while hitting the right trigger.

The slider completes though, and like I said, without moving, it resets and skips the "find the angle" steps and jumps right back to break.

I picked some locks in the Boston Underground, they worked fine with the 360 controller. Only chests seem to be glitched and can't finish when using a controller.

Yeah, I have the same problem with chests but doors seem to work fine. 3 or 4 chests (so far) I just can't seem to do with a gamepad but 2 doors were no problem, worked first time.

Edit: Switched to M/KB and was able to open the chest I was at with the mouse.

the lockpicking in skyrim is harder then this. If you can't pick the locks in this game ( Most locks are actually basically the same quit ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ complaining ) trade it in for Hellokitty island and get your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hand eye coordination down

The lock picking isn't difficult, it's glitched. Calm down.

I read somewhere that the slider's actually a timer, not a progress bar.

I had trouble making the lockpicking work, too. My main problem is that after I got the slider from right to left and the chest should open it doesnt. The slider slides to the right again and then ticks to the left side by itself, without me clicking any buttons. And again. And again in a loop until i lose position and the lockpick slides out of the lock. the chest doesnt open. "Assasinate" the lock doenst seem to work either.
Any advice?

As someone said before, that slider is a timer.
