How do AC3 and entering keys work?

I have the deluxe version of AC3 and the season pass, so I entered the keys into the game's extras are to unlock everything. I think I accidently typed in a CD key that I already typed in before and got a screen saying that the key was already used.

1. When I re-install Steam and download AC3 again, will I enter the keys again? I suspect that I'll get the same screen saying that the key is used up. Or will the game get installed by Steam with all of that content already unlocked like I typed in all of the keys already?

2. Do I always have to go through Steam to play AC3? I don't seem to have the game in Uplay if I launch Uplay directly.

3. Can I go somewhere in the game or on Ubisofts website to see what keys that I do have entered?

In the game Main Menu--> Extra --> Reedeem Code (You have to put your activation code 2 times, one time at first startup of the game, in UBISOFT UPLAY game launcher, and 2nd time in the Extra Menu)

So my game with 2 of each key, one via Steam in the AC3 game, and the other one in Uplay?
I guess I did the first part then

How do I enter in the key into Uplay? When I open Uplay directly, my profile doesn't have the game available, like I never bought it.
