There's no need to cheat. It's not that hard if you know how to do it. I looked forever for a GOOD explanation because the tutorial is crap. Since I can't recall where I found one, I'll try to explain it.

You need a little patience and a steady hand, but once you get the feel of it, you'll get it every time, with just an occasional do-over. The biggest things to remember are to move the mouse VERY SLOWLY and to move it in a straight line.

Step one. Move either left or right; there's no difference. Watch the animation. If Connor is twirling it around and around and nothing's happening, you're doing it too fast. Go slowly and it will look as if he's rotating it once, slowly.

The instant you see the pick click into place, STOP moving the mouse. Keep your hand still. It's easy to lose that sweet spot by moving your hand. If you do lose it, simply start again and remember to move slowly. If you're having to move it so much that you run off the mouse pad, you're doing it too fast.

Step two. Exercise control over your hand and move the mouse either up (away from you) or down (toward you) very, very slowly. It is the same slow movement, just in a different direction. The trick is to only move it up or down, not side to side. Lateral movement will lose your first stage and send you back to the beginning.

Step three. You finally have both picks in place. Keeping your hand SUPER STILL and moving only your index finger, click the left mouse button repeatedly until the thing opens.

When I write it all down it sounds harder than it is.

Good luck.

[edit] I found a good video tutorial that makes it clear. Skip to [2:00] minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqiDUNP0uuQ

I know all that. I found it. But i dont wanna deal with it anyway.
I just want something to cheat those chests open, so i dont have to deal with that annoying stuff.

Thanks for trying though. But i want a cheat or something.

Buy a controller, It's alot easier then you think, Just plug it in and play. Honestly i cant imagine playing a game like this without a controller

If you liberate all the forts, the chests on the area will be unlocked w/o the need of lockpick.

I always find it funny that people say "buy a controller". If I wanted to use a controller I would have bought a console system. PC's are NOT xbox / playstations.

Anyway I to have had some troubles with lockpicking. 1 box took me 10 minutes to pick because I could get the sliding thing all the way over and instead of opening it, it made me start over. A cheat would be nice but sadly I think we are stuck with a steady hand and a little luck

Imagine Ubisoft hides an invisible dot on your screen and you have to find it with your invisible mouse. That's how it works for me.

Lol. Insisible dot. Good one.
I have had luck resently though. Its just sad there is no cheats.

But recently i click to lockpick and it just jumps right into the spot at once and done.
It doesnt make any sense.

And yea. I bought the pc for mouse and keyboard. Not controller.
I tried an controller. Everything is just harder. And you have WAY less precision.
