Can't save [solved]
Hello, i cannot save my new game, nomatter what i do.

I can't even find a save folder or file.

I already started the game 10x and did the complete first mission but nothing, no save, no nothing. This is really frustrating. Why this game is so crappy?

PS: the saving icon poped on screen several times during gameplay

[SOLUTION]

go to the game .exe file, right click on it, and set it to run as administrator. The issue was that the game could not create the save directory. Thanks UBIsoft for not creating that on installation and/or patching the game.. its just like 4 years the game is around, i am sure u guys didnt have time to fix it by now.

Also, reinstalling a newer verstion of Uplay seems to fix the problem.

same issues i played for 5 hrs 3x and exited came back and no save realy pisses me off
I figured out, that has something to do with Uplay. At first a hadn't a folder like "savegames" in Programs (x86) / Ubisoft / Ubissoft Game Lauchner!
I uninstalled Uplay. I download Uplay from Chip.de or I guess you can download it from Ubisoft directly as well.
I got the new version and installed Uplay again. I started the game and created a new player! I waited until Desmond is in the hall. (before you go in the animus)!
I quit the game and took a look in the folder!

Now, I have the samegame folder and if you go inside you will find the save file.

So, my guess is, that the version do you get from uplay when you downlad this game from steam is to old!

So, unistall uplay, download the actual version and install again. Hopefully it works for you, too

Kind Regards,

So I was having this same issue yesterday and today. I seem to have fixed it and I'm still using the uplay that got downloaded with the game. What I did was the following:

To note: I'm running Windows 10.

Went to the steam library on my computer: Steam folder /steamapps/common/assassinscreed3 and find the two exe files. Then right clicked properties and then checked the "run as admin" (I had to go to the compatibility tab).

That seems to have fixed it for me. I did a quick run and found the game saved.

Yeah, the version of U Play that comes with the game is out of date. just uninstall it, and go to the u play website and re install. should fix it.

I was having issues launching AC3 while offline. I had to connect my laptop to internet and then it updated Uplay , and AC3 then launched. Bad news is, second time this has happened in 2 weeks. I am scared about syndicate coming out. Pre-Ordered and I am wondering if I am going to have constant troubles with it (due to Uplay)
