ACIII Ending... WTF?

I'm a little confused about what happened during the ending. I thought Juno was the ancient from the first two games... isn't she supposed to be helping us find a way to save the world?

Also, who is the second ancient that shows up and claims that Juno is evil? Although she claims Juno is evil she also claims humanities best chance of survival is to let it get destroyed... a bit of a oxymoron if you ask me.

Lastly, is Desmond actually dead or unconscious? If he's dead, I'm assuming that AC 1-3 was it's own story arc?

Juno is the ancient one that appears in Assassins Creed Brotherhood. She is the one that...helps, or guides you to...kill Lucy. As the ending in 3 explains, when Juno, Minerva and the ancient from Revelations were trying to build vaults to save themselves and their kindcfrom the solar flares. When Juno's loved one died she went bat5hit crazy and tried to enslave the humans. When the other ancients found out about it they locked her inside the cave from 3.

Minerva is the ancient one that appears in Assassins Creed 2's ending. She wants the whole world to be destroyed just so Juno stays locked in the cave. Juno can somehow protect the planet from the flare somehow. Desmond needs to touch the orb and let her free. This part lost me too so I don't know.

Desmond dies in the end. That's the end of his journey. What a wasted opportunity if you ask me. In Assassins Creed Black Flag and Rogue you control a new, faceless Abstergo employee and you get to see what happens after Desmond's death. You even run into a few familiar faces while you're at it. Desmond's story gets some closure too. Worth a play.

I played 1, 2, and 3 back to back and all throughout AC3 I thought Juno was the ancient from AC2 lol. I was like WTF when she turned evil at the end of AC3. Now it makes more sense. Thank you.

I think I have all standard editions. I'm now 5hrs into Black Flag and it's amazing.
