Hello l-xXx-l,
Due to a technical error, your copy of 'Assassin's Creed 3 - Deluxe' cannot be used. Your purchase of this product will be fully refunded. In addition to the refund, you will be granted 'Assassin's Creed 3 - Standard' at no cost.
An email will be sent to you when your refund has been processed.
what the f is this?
I just got the same email. I checked my library and the game is now standard edition, and the steam page shows that i have all DLC (excluding session pass). If i get a refund, that would be awesome.
And the Deluxe has been removed from the store page.
So I guess that's Ubi's "fix"...?
I bought the game on sale; now I can only hope AC3 (original, as opposed to remaster) still exists by the time another decent sale happens by.
My concern is that when the remaster comes out, they might not sell the original anymore.
Guess we'll have to see what happens.
Can confirm.
In my Steam library, if I look at DLC, it only shows standard edition.
It's certainly annoying, but they didn't "steal" anything; we're getting refunds, and the base game for free.
I bought it!!!
And "Assassin's Creed III - Benedict Arnold DLC" can not be bought separately and it is not included in Season Pass! This DLC was sold only as part of "Assassin's Creed 3 Deluxe Edition"!
Steam turns to shi* like Uplay and Epic Trash Store? Why they do not protect buyers?!
But it's not theft.
I also doubt Steam has anything to do with it.
This is no doubt Ubi ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ something up in relation to the Remaster coming out in a few days (the 29th, I think?).
What I'm wondering is if it's an accident, or on purpose.
Maybe they just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ something up by accident, sure, possible. That's bad enough. But maybe they're doing this to try and incentivize people to buy the remaster instead, which would be downright shady as all ♥♥♥♥.
I've never seen something like this happen before, and I can't even begin to imagine what kind of technical issue might lead to this happening.
I'm no programmer, so I'm by no means an expert, but... seriously... the game was working. What suddenly changed?
This issue's been going on for 3 weeks, and now they've given up on trying to fix it, a couple of days before the remaster comes out? Really strange.
If we can still buy this version (and wait for the next sale) when the remaster comes out, I can believe this has been accidental.
If they stop selling this one, though, I think it'll be pretty safe to assume they've done it on purpose to try and get people to buy the remaster instead.
I do not need handouts and gifts! I need what I paid for!
And the Remastered Version of this game is disgusting!
Sorry for my bad english.
Hobbyist programmer here, the ♥♥♥♥ up likely isn't on the AC3 devs side of things, it'd most likely be on either uPlay or Steam's side of things.
''We will not be granting a refund at this time as there is no evidence that the product has a major defect as defined under Australian law''.
I have been trying to find a solution for the past 20 days . Funny fact how they have refunded people who have access to the game without even requesting a refund .
Also, conflicting stories between those who are being offered the standard version and those who are claiming Steam is doing nothing for them. To me, this means that a formal resolution has yet to be met.
