Screen flickering fix (Windows 10)
Voldorac from Youtube:

This helped me fix this issue (W10): Go into your AC3 installed folder and find the AC3SP.exe (application file) and go to the "Compatibility" tab and disable the "display scaling on high DPI setting". One other thing you also should do is after you've done that change is to start the game as an Administrator.

Hey nice find, it works for me! :steamhappy:
No more flickering of the lights in the mystery-cave etc.
I wonder though, because it was fine before either the latest AC3 patch or the latest Nvidia drivers.

And I still wonder about the flowing hair part of my horse. It looks so thin, like something is missing and the tail is obviously not really connected to the horse's back, it has a short gap of air between. Has this always been this way?

Awesome, thanks for the tip! My screen would shake when I slid down hills or was having a conversation. It was making me sick just after a couple of seconds. Disabling the hight DPI setting and run as an admin seemed to fix this issue - alongside the flickering. Thanks again. :steamhappy:

Always run anti templar illuminati games as administrator :p
Who knows.

Thanks for this tip. You really helped me!

This game CLEARLY did not get enough time in the oven. It has some hilarious bugs - straight out of goat simulator.

And some frustrating ones that I wish would go away along with some horrible game design here and there.

Sigh.

Before the asia-language patch it was kinda solid to me, though. I do not remeber any eye-catching bugs until then. Might be that I forgot some, because I paused the game for a very long time, but still, I probably will not forget the bugs this patch caused.

This worked for about 4 days but I just launched the game today and it started happening again. And yes, I'm running the game as an administrator.

Did you also disable DPI scaling as mentioned above, respectively did it reset for some reason maybe?

Running the game as Administrator should only fix userright conflicts, such as savegame I/O errors, but a grafical detail bug shouldn't get fixed with it anyway. But it's never wrong to try that out of course. ;)

You could additionally try to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 8, it's in the same tab. Usually if I run a scan for conflicts of games with Windows 10, it suggest to do so at the moment. So, might be worth a try with AC3 as well.

Try running DDU to remove your old video drivers and then reinstall them. See my post, http://steamcommunity.com/app/208480/discussions/0/1488866813771224135/

Hello there DakyRS!

Thanks for sharing your troubleshooting tips for a flickering screen! I hope this suggestion can help other players who may be encountering this issue in their own game.

In future, we'd recommend creating a new thread rather than posting in an old one, as this can cause newer reports to be pushed back within in the forum.

Thanks,

- Ubisoft Support
