quick load is not working in Doom 3

I realize that my problem might be related to the fact that my game is on my HDD and my saves are on my SSD (OS is on it, so my docs and profile are on it too), but as far as I know there really isn't a way to tell the game to put the saves in the same directory as the Doom 3 game. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

I can still save the game; I just can't load my quick save while in a game.

Just figured it out. It was a bug. Basically, if it happens to you, just delete one of your saves so the "New save" option will appear again, and then exit and hit f5 then f9 to quick save and reload. hmph... <.<

4+ years later and this still hasn't been fixed but your comment helped me out, thanks!
So basically the problem is that it won't quick save when all of your save slots are used up, which does make sense, but the bug is that if you hit the quick save key it will still say 'Saving...' even though it isn't actually creating a new save game, so when you hit quick load it does nothing. Could be easily fixed if the devs added another save slot especially for quick saves that couldn't be used up by a manual save, but that's probably not going to happen so your solution is the only way!

You are expecting them to fix something on that game? They literally repackaged it and sold it on 2019 with minimal changes and no fixes

Stil not fixed. I guess the issue is that rhe quick ssve always ceates a new save and you can only have a specifix amount of save files. Just lost 25 min progress because of this. Piece of crap.

That's annoying, but who knows -- maybe in a few years, Nightdive will come around and fix this once and for all.

Edit: Nowadays, the original Doom 3 is available on Steam. Perhaps that one doesn't have the issue.
