"Why does DOOM 3 BFG Edition fail to load from my Steam install?
DOOM 3 requires DirectX 9.0 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 in order to run. However, these redistributables are not included in the Steam install. Downloading these redistributables from Microsoft will resolve the issue."
Me too I have made a thread about it

If you have multiple monitors or vid' cards like some upgraded laptops use TV ..etc. You need to sort out the monitor ID you want to run on = "Screen Resolution" > "Indentify".
then..
IF YOU HAVE CURRENT and clean drivers(never used "beta") ..not clean needs "driver cleaner" then put "r_fullscreen 0" in any of three places. (simplest is icon properties, take out after!)
In short, Indentify monitor, sort out drivers, force it to start in a window so you can set which monitor. Switch back to fullscreen.
--------edit--see update--------------
And make sure you have these.. for Steam install

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 you can find/or not in the "Uninstall" area of windowz.
Not sure how how to check for DX 9.. proll'y a search for d3dx9 and if -anything- shows up yer done. Its there.
----------------------update---------
for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010;
search your system/other game installs for "msvc2010" folder; I found two of these in steam folders.
for Direct X 9;
search your system/other game installs for "directx" folder; I found multiple..
You do have them then and that part is done.
I am able to play Doom 3 at 1920x1200 adjusting the .cfg file properly, so I can't undertand why should I decrease my desktop resolution on a game's remake that claims to be graphically improved.
Is there any other workaround, in the meantime ID or Bethesda can provide for a proper patch before I ask for a refound?.
Thx.
Just for the record, I've installed both tools found on the Steam's game folder before with the same difference unfortunately.
