Lost Mission Ending *SPOILERS*
Could someone explain this to me? I thought it was all very interesting. I thought I was going in to destroy the portal. Kinda seems like all I did was open it...was that scientist on Betruger's side? Did he want the marine to open the portal so that the demons could use the ships to get to Earth?

You where opening the portal so he could link the one on Mars to it and apparently send some kind of feedback uber-charge through it to destroy the one in Hell. Supposedly this could only work if someone traveled into Hell and manually turned on the one there. Apparently the smaller teleporter was okay, the priority was the giant one that was built to send drop ships through. "Because they might find a way to teleport to Earth!"

Yeah, it's a bunch of sci-fi garbage, but it was a fun play through that I greatly enjoyed. I sorta wish the Hell levels had been longer even though the whole time I kept thinking to myself, "Why would someone go through all this to build a teleporter here in the first place? Are people really that stupid?"

...and we all know the answer to that question. Yes. Yes they are.

The dropship comes down right over that teleporter at the end. I kinda feel like that scientist used the marine. It would make sense as a precursor for DOOM 4.

all this time and i finally went through and beat the game + dlcs

seeing the timestamps for this post makes me sad with how much time went by

I still very well could have been leading up to what they originally had for DOOM 4 based on the concept art and leaked footage of the game being on Earth. I still wish we could play what they had before they scrapped it and made what DOOM 2016 would come to be. Even if it sucked I wanna know what it was like..

i just kinda want another horror-centered doom game
or remaster doom 3 again
idk
something, i love doom 2016 but i love the horror aspect; not too many of those games floating around anymore, even FEAR has gone down hill
