That would look like the solution. but replacing the software protections service task did not work for me. Is there something more I need to replace?

Reinstalled Microsoft VC 2010. now it just has a spinning circle for about 2 seconds nothing happens. same errors in event log. .... reading more.

When adding the tasks back in they appear in the list with no name then they disappear from the list when i press F5. The files are put intot he folders if i check them in the file manager and task schedules says there are no more errors. However i'm still getting errors in the event logs. the same ones. No doom3 bfg love.

Ok fixed the scheduling of tasks error. after that it wanted a reinstall of the microsoft VC 2010 64bit, now the only error that remains is this one.

Semi Fix.

+set r_fullscreen 0 gets the game to start in windowed mode.

Something about full screen angers this game.

Suddenly game stopped to work for me too (single playing game). For me it fixes problem when start multiplaying game at first. Just greate own game and after game has loaded then leave game. After that my single playing game works again...

The issue is produced by the actual version of drivers.

I am aware that Ati Radeon has not officially updated the drivers yet, but the new BETA drivers should fix it. (13.8)

However, please note that BETA drivers still in development and stability with your system cannot be guaranteed.

If you do not wish to install a BETA driver, then do the following:

download this file;

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15959699/atioglxx.dll

place it at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOM 3 BFG Edition\

You should now try launching the game.
