Try to login into your account on the Steam website and not through the Steam launcher. If you can then you would be able to buy it there and it will be added to your steam account.

Unlike many remasters(GTA DE, Assassin's Creed 3, Saints Row 3 etc) they keep the old version and give it away for free for new buyers of Doom 3 BFG.

I get that german (and australian) censorship is annoying. But I'm more pissed at ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Valve. If that lazy, filthy rich company bothered to implement a damn age verification, which it has more than enough resources to accomplish, it'd be fine.
But noooo. Valve doesn't care, Valve doesn't bother.
Idiots don't even let us activate keys.
