Quick question about this version...

Do the mods that work with the original version of Doom 3 work with the BFG edition? In particular do the graphical mods such as sikkmod work with BFG? And which one looks better, BFG or original Doom 3 with sikkmod?

No. the BFG is pretty much unmoddable. Doom3 with sikkmod or another HD looks way better IMO (or even without a mod honestly. BFG is really bright)

Doom 3 with Sikkmod is _slow_. Doom 3 BFG is blazing fast even on Intel GPU and AMD laptops. Not to mention multiplayer performance is 1000x better than in Doom 3.

I agree. I own both and BFG edition is much much faster, while still having improved graphics.

Only Doom purists will tell you not to go for it, dont listen to them.

I am a hardcore DOOM player and I will tell you straight... BFG is by far the better version. It runs silky smooth, the textures look better.. it plays better and say what you will about the "flash light" but its a welcomed addition. The DOOM 3 players will tell you that the flash light is dumb now.. which is funny because they go on and on about their mods... there was a doom 3 mod to make the flash light how it ended up in BFG LOL.

Anyways, BFG is the better version... you would be a fool not to pick it up.
