The engine is in nooooooooooo way the IDTech 4 the actual engine is a mod of the IDTech 5 which is why the graphics look so much better. However, they downgraded the 5th engine and added new texture and lighting modifications to it. So, the engine is offically called the IDTECH4.5! Which is only used in Doom 3 BFG edition seeing as the original Doom 3 Engine is the IDTECH 4! Wolfenstein: The New Order is using a heavily modded IDTECH5 to increase the graphical texture and lighting styles you see in rage to create a darker realm. Doom 4/New Doom from what I heard is the first game that will be running the last creation by John Carmack at ID from what I've heard hence the IDTECH6 which will be a GPU punishing engine! Anyways I know how to re-code engines like this, but I don't wanna mod that much of an engine created by my idol...that's pure blasphemy!
No, CODG uses IW Engine and Havok. Only Doom 3 BFG uses that. Also, that's because they used the original AI. All they did was remaster the levels to a point to look just after Quake 4. Pretty much you'd need to run the code through visual studio, and either change/hack or add a modification system. Or copy and paste the old one in, but then you'd need to add it to the menu...as the menus of the games are a tad different.
Wonder if they still pay a licence fee.
