There's really a lot of ammo in this game? :D
I played the original D3 when it came, and totally forgot it afterwards. Just remember bits and pieces of it, and seemed to be real hard at times because ammo was so rare, even i opened the lockers. Now playing BFG edition, i got huge amounts of ammo 250 shells on shotgun! Can i even shoot all of them in this game on enemies? I play on Veteran at that seems so easy. My armor is 125, and energy on 100 almost all the time.

Was i just total noob when i played original D3, or is this version made way easier?

I just bought the BFG edition, started with The Lost Mission on Nightmare and it was way to easy. The ammo was so plentyful I never run out of any. You could just super shotgun anything that looked funny without hesitation. My armor was almost always at 125 because there was so much of it. I hope D3 Nightmare will not be that easy.

You're meaning veteran? In D3 you cant start on nightmare before completing veteran skill level. Can't remember is it different on the add-ons. But yes, this was a disappointment, D1 and 2 were great though! Loved em.

I unlocked the nightmare skill in the ini because I have never played the lost missions before and wanted to do so in nightmare mode the first time and not being forced to finish the game first in veteran.

ammo count in each pickup has been increased. not sure why they did that unless they were trying to make the game more like the original doom games with tons of ammo and you just shooting demons the whole time.

P.S. i played on veteran and it still felt pretty easy for me but this is coming form someone who has beaten the game int he past about 8 times so me saying veteran is easy might not reflect the difficulty accuratly for new comers

Well, nightmare difficulty is not a big step up. I am at Communications at the moment and the only hard part is that I cant remember where the enemies are, its been some time since I played doom 3. But the Imp and Hell Knight projectiles seem so slow, you can easily chainsaw Imps, pinkies, cacodemons and whatnot. Dunno, I remember the original D3 nightmare way harder than this.

The Ammo Pickup increase are for the CoD crowd IMO. In that game you can pick up any gun and it is essentially the same, i.e, unlimited ammo basically.

Also the health is way too plentiful, again for the cod crowd. I'm thinking if just reinstalling original Doom 3, as i find this almost embarassing :angrytiger:

Since the game has some modability. I wonder why nobody has made balance mods that could reset ammo/armor/health pickup counts to their original level? Out of everything this compilation stands for. Pickups are a major problem. Obviously, nobody had any idea what map balance was.

I have the original and BFG installed, I can confirm that the BFG version was nerfed a bit. More ammo and health, hard to tell if they added armor pickups as the original was flush with armor already. And I was the guy that liked the flashlight setup in the original, added tension. {Yes, I am a Doom junkie} ;)

Hah :D I liked the flashligt setup before too, i loved the atmosphere of this game. Granted, it could have used more shooting large groups of enemies as in previous dooms, but this nailed the claustrophobic element pretty good, there always has been a horror aspect in Doom anyways.

I hope in the new one we have more hell and variety in levels, not just the base. Base enviroment was done good in Doom 3, but the whole game was in that enviroment mostly. In the originals we went through different themes.

Little off topic, but who cares!
