Yeah I too liked the handheld flashlight. From memory it just made the game feel more creepy.
Making assumptions about my age and if i did or did not play doom 3 when it was released? More ignorant dumbass assumptions from your side of the table I see. LOL. Hilarious. IGNORANT
Not everyone was against the original flashlight. Those were vocal individuals and just like how there are individuals who dislike the original flashlight there are also the ones who like it (myself included).
You are right, no one is forcing him to buy this. Actually, he has never mentioned he was being forced. He was just stating he did not like the mounted flashlight and asked if there was a way to bring the original flashlight back.
Please don't tell him not to complain as he has the right to voice his opinion just as much as you do, besides, complaining about things makes them stand out more informing anyone who wasn't familiar with them beforehand.
And how would you know if he has or hasn't played the game when it came out? It appears you mentioned that because you want to prove that you were there when "everyone" started complaining and wanted to say that he wasn't around when people complained. But how would you know he wasn't around back then to see the complaints? Also, he never said people weren't complaining, he said that not everyone was. To be exact, he said "Some of us prefered the flashlight and did not download the ducktape mod." Again, not everyone was against the original flashlight
Pretty much all the things you said were not fact, but twisted versions of the truth and false. The only thing you maybe got right is him using capslock but even that might not be true as he might have used shift to type. Everything you said here may have been a complete miss.
Yes, he do argument bad!
You good argument!
Really? Can you map it back to the Controller, too? I really miss zooming in on stuff, like you could in the XBox version.
It baffles me that they simply stripped away the whole flashlight mechanic. I found the idea genius back in the day! Having to choose between being able to see or being able to defend yourself gave the game a much needed core mechanic to differentiate itself from other shooters. I guess I should have gushed about it back in 2004, since only the critics got their way now.
This game desperately needs some mod support! Does anyone know why it doesn't? Is there a technical reason for it?
