Custom maps for Doom 2

Hey that might be a stupid question but can I install custom maps for Doom 2 in Doom 3 BFG edition ? If so how ? Thank you.

No... at least not through the BFG Edition. You'd have to extract the Doom2.wad and run it through a source port.

I actually one time tried downloading a full 32 map megawad, changed it's name to Doom2.wad, and swapped it with the Doom2.wad in the BFG Editions folder, just to see if that would even work... launching Doom 2 crashed the game every single time. No custom textures or weapons or sounds, it was all vanilla.
